Funtastic Nintendo 64 Complete Collection (Ep. 20- Collection #8)

This is a video of my 6 boxed Funtastic Nintendo 64's which include 4 controllers of each of the colors of Smoke, Grape, Watermelon, Orange, Ice, and Jungle! Said to have "Awesome Anti Alias Graphics!"

Thanks for all of the details, especially the release year for these suckers. My first N64 was from the Funtastic series and I guess I forgot which year that was! My recollection was incorrectly telling me that I got mine in 1998, but 1999 actually makes much more sense now that I give it more thought.

I finally completed this set, finding that last North American Watermelon in good condition was the biggest pain by far.. the funny thing is as proud of the collection as I am and am happy to have it- I shudder at the very thought of even collecting 1 of the Funtastic controllers in their box or blister pack… $4246 for those curious is what i’d say these 6 are generally prices around altogether these days. (2023-2024)

@Purtle28Patrick Thanks! Only 2 of them I would consider to be in great condition as the others all have some sort of flaw. I took a video of the commercial from a secondary website when I found it and I recorded it with my camera facing the monitor (I use a HD TV as my computer monitor). I would suggest waiting for auctions to buy the consoles and sometimes they come with a few games so you can re sell those to lower the cost. There are a few with BIN prices of only $60 which isn't bad. :)

@JSCG12 You are right. Ebay sellers usually do jack up prices for anything CIB. Right now the gaming market for collecting seems to be in a bubble - I would search locally and search ebay daily several times for Buy It Now auctions and just be persistent and patient. Finding deals is critical and feels great too

@fheisk You make a fair point if you knew that I never played the console. There are some people who collect and never, ever play. I played it all the time growing up and still play it all of the time today. Those are my experiences which made me love the console even more and want to collect for it. Not as many people play the N64 anymore so there are additional consoles always for sale. Do not judge unless you know more about it or me

@hunter101sgames I think it is for sure as long as it came with the matching controller, cords, and cosmetically was not damaged. I would price a Funtastic with one controller at $40-$50 personally (in Canada anyways).

@Zeldalover12100 Good question but most HDTV's still have the 3 colored input of red, white and yellow so I would just suggest using those.

@Californiakid5 It really depends on which console. These funtastics (the 6 of them) could be obtained for under $100 with box, styrofoam and inserts. Anything more then everything better be in mint condition. The rarer consoles are Japanese and are most expensive but under $100 for anything North American is good. Also note that none of the N64 consoles were ever sealed. Hope this helps!

@MegaTherock94 Naw. Sorry I wouldn't want to try and justify why I have it all and effort it took finding some items. I have 350 games, over 100 controllers, and 33 consoles (not to mention accessories / posters / Nintendo Power magazines / guides so my collections value is a tough thing to gauge

@DillynGuidry I would suggest trying craigslist (its a website) if you are in North America. Otherwise simply go into any buy and sell shops or even a Value Village and take a look. Wanted ads on some sites are helpful too. Best of luck!

@Zeldalover12100 I would definitely suggest trying the console on a different television first and make sure the console is obtaining power (the red light will go on). If it has power then it should* give a signal. If you need a new one I would look to craiglist or ebay. Good luck!

If I’m not mistaken the orange one is extremely rare as it was made in a limited amount. Also the “ice blue” is commonly referred to as aqua blue.

I am no expert for prices in the PAL region. From experience, I can only say that anything over $200 USD (roughly 130 euros) seems like too much for me. If it is in excellent condition, then maybe a little more

This is an very nice collection u have there! I'm also collecting these and too bad prices are very high and boxed N64 Funtastic consoles in good condition are rare. So i'm deciding tobuy replica boxes which are 100% copies of the original ones because that person has all the original boxes and used those to make the replica's. Unfortunetly they came without the manuals and promotion material. Maybe u can tell me what's inside the boxes so i can try to find this al seperated to make everything complete. Thanks in advance!
