manticore or equinox 800? which would be better for stability and less falsing?
@funwithjim14 күн бұрын
Manticore is better in the water for sure but the both false on sharp iron especially in mineralized sand

What brand of metal detectors do you recommend?
@funwithjim15 күн бұрын
It really depends on what type of Metal Detecting you’re going to do, is this your first time ever buying a metal detector? And what type of ground are you going to Metal Detecting? If you’re going to metal detect on a beach, there are some really good beach machines that are on a budget However I always recommend getting a machine that can handle a multitude of different ground and mineralization. You can never go wrong with a mind lab equinox, if you’re going to hunt desert for gold get the 800 or the 900 if you’re only gonna mentally take the beach, the 600 and 700 are just fine. And if you need a beach machine, but you are a newbie to Metal Detecting and do not want to spend much money on this hobby. I would suggest looking at the mine lab Xterra elite. Don’t go too cheap if you’re hunting the beach if you do then most of those metal detectors are nothing but trash and that’s all you’ll dig is nothing but trash. A really good machine can detect gold and gold is hard to find, it takes a good skill set, but a newbie can have great success with the right machine.

@ I live near the beach in Southern California, I was told that the Mimi Lab X Terra Pro was good for beginners. Thanks for your help…

Hi Jim! New subscriber and watcher to your channel. My son and I have recently started metal detecting at sunset beach and haven’t found anything. Lots of beeps to dig up and nothing be there. Could it be from the black sand? We tried a total of 3 hours over yesterday and today and no luck. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. We went around 10am both days if that matters. Thanks, Brittany
@funwithjim14 күн бұрын
Sunset and Bolsa are the hardest beaches to detect. Try HB and Newport to start once you understand how to deal with iron rich soil then Sunset would be worth a try

Congrats on the chain. I dig all targets on the non-ferrous line, sounds like a ring pull at high 20’s and low 30’s, but having said that, I dug 36 ring pulls then the next one was a 9crt gold ring.
