I feel like a few notes are missing in the tabs. On the 2nd variation of the Am section right before the 2-3-5 your hand does this really cool shift lower down the neck and it seems you pluck an extra note. Am I just imagining that, or is it omitted from the tabs for some reason? It’s right at around 00:27 when the hand jumps. Thanks so much! I will try to slow the video down to find the note.
@RockClass1014 жыл бұрын

Just curious: what’s the point of putting down the middle finger on the E7 chord if the C string is not picked during that portion of the song? It sounds identical without the C string pressed.
@RockClass1014 жыл бұрын
Good question, Lance! 2 reasons, the most important one is if you accidentally hit the open C sting, that note will clash horribly with the E chord you are playing out of. Second, most of us have established the muscle memory to form the E7, so it feels natural to just form the full chord.
@lancehewison4 жыл бұрын
Rock Class 101 Thanks so much! That makes a lot of sense. Great video. I’ll also fo the full E7 from now on during that part. Newbie here :-) I am playing with a wound low G string. I assume I just play it the same as in the tab?
@RockClass1014 жыл бұрын
My pleasure! And yes, the same. Low G will work for this song, but keep in mind that when we arrange, we take advantage of high or low G tuning; so it will always sound best on its intended instrument. We've got around 25 tunes for low G, if you wanna check em' out: rockclass101.com/low-g-ukulele-songs/

Rock Class 101 Thanks; that helps. You’re a great teacher in this tutorial, very patient and clear. I checked out your site today and it has a wealth of helpful information as well. I really appreciate how you intersperse things about playing dynamics and emotion - that makes such a difference between just knowing how to play the notes and really feeling the music (and making your audience feel it too)! @RockClass1014 жыл бұрын
You can play this arrangement on soprano. It sounds like the issue is with the ukulele itself. You may need to have it set up to correct intonation, so that note pitches remain in-tune throughout the entire span of the neck.
