A tip. If you see a pasture that has cattle or sheep in it and there is a donkey or three or even a lama in with the livestock you have found a place with a coyote problem. The owner already knows he is fighting with a world class predator and will be a lot easier to get permission from.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought about that as an indicator for coyote problems but I see them in many pastures

Thats what they are for. Ranchers don't have them cause they are fun to play with. They are guard dogs for livestock. In one of your videos you got a donkey to let go of a calf. If you still are in contact with that farmer, ask him why he has donkeys in his pastures.

So far, getting permission to trap coyotes has been easy. Actually had 1 man to give me $200 to buy more traps and promise to trap his land this coming season. A whole lot easier than getting deer hunting permission. Hahaha!

not so easy up here in Ontario. People are very cautious about having others playing out on their property. Beaver trapping is usually allowed but anything else can be hard. Unless the farmer has lost livestock. But you can't trap if you don't go out there and look for land!!

That is tough, some people are like that down here in the South. The biggest thing we have to contend with is people don't want you to be trapping during deer season, which can take up half of trapping season waiting on deer season to go out

Trapper Cody Thanks Cody. Asking in person is key I think, shows them you are serious and respect them.
