I just saw this movie and it was great. Not the best like Fury Road but still good.
@benm59705 ай бұрын
This movie kicked ass, leading up to it I was about 90% sure that it looked good, it looked like the action still had the amazing spectacle of Fury Road, the same crazy, high octane energy looked like it was still there, and Furiosa was an amazing character and I thought the idea of getting to see her origin was cool, the 1 thing I was hesitant about was Anya Taylor Joy in the leading role, this may be an unpopular opinion but I personally think she’s kinda overrated, she has been in stuff I’ve liked but at the same time I’ve just never understood why everyone thinks she’s so amazing, and I wasn’t all that sure that she could pull of the same badass performance that Charlize Theron gave, and so my anticipation for this movie was “Confident in most of it with just 1 red herring” But thankfully this movie totally delivers The best thing about it is once again the action, George Miller created 1 of the greatest action movies ever made with Fury Road, that movie had absolutely mind blowing stunts and that continues on here, every action scene looks like a true work of art and I was beyond impressed with it, I also loved the backstory of Furiosa, a couple of interesting things about it that the advertising doesn’t tell you is that for one Anya Taylor Joy doesn’t come into the movie until about halfway through, for a good chunk of the movie it’s actually with kid Furiosa who I thought did a terrific job, another is that her and Anya Taylor Joy don’t actually speak that much, a lot of their performances are pretty silent, which means that a lot of it is done with their facial expressions and I thought both of them knocked it out of the park, and even though I was worried that Anya Taylor Joy wouldn’t have the same intimidating presence that Charlize Theron did she totally does, when she speaks she puts a lot of power and aggression into her voice and she totally proved me wrong for doubting her Chris Hemsworth was great too, I was excited to see him from the get-go and he’s so enjoyable, he looks like he’s having an absolute ball playing this crazy villain, and what I thought was really scary about him is that he also has more of a calm, manipulative side to him too, for a lot of the movie he talks to Furiosa in a way that makes him sound like he’s grooming her, putting lies into her head and trying to make himself out to be nice and caring when he really doesn’t give a shit about her and just wants her for labor, he was diabolical while still having a bit of reservation in his personality, which made his crazy outburst all the more surprising, I also liked seeing Immortan Joe again, and even though it’s not the same actor as the one from Fury Road I thought this guy did a great job and was very intimidating, and it was cool how this movie was centered around a big rivalry between Chris Hemsworth’s people and Immortan Joe’s people, and so for a lot of the movie you’re not even really sure who to root for because you know they’re both bad, you just know that Furiosa is caught in the middle of all of this and she’s the one you really wanna see succeed My only real gripe with the movie is more of just a small one, which is that given how this is a prequel there’s an aspect of Furiosa that I was excited to see but the movie doesn’t really show it, it has the setup but then it just cuts to it having already happened, which was a bummer because it’s a big part of her character that I was really looking forward to seeing But in the end this movie was fantastic, I had some doubts about whether or not it could live up to the magnificence of Fury Road big it definitely did, Anya Taylor Joy was great in the leading role, the action was still just as spectacular as before and this movie truly did have the blood of Fury Road coursing through its veins in every way possible. 9/10

Totally agree , sadly some of the original actors from Fury Road have passed , I was in Fury Road . Chris was chained onto the big truck so he didn’t fly out, he did do the stunts himself not green screen, I was there , I’m in it , I saw him , we did dangerous stuff too the rigs were huge deadly and loud , we had to wear ear plugs and they were still loud , he rode the chariot too, he got right into it and I think he did a great job , was my favourite . George , well what can I say , let’s get the next one started .. epic

Did we actual we need either of them? Maybe not. But Loved them both and what they add to their respective worlds, new characters and set pieces. And Furiosa has stuck with me and is still in my head. The allegory is strong and it gives us a lot to think about. ATJ was good but Furiosa will always be Charlize Theron's character. I wish she could have been in the last act. Good review.

@peterlenham3180 Er, yes. Fury Road most certainly is a masterpiece of filmmaking, one of the greatest films in the past few decades. There is zero fat on that film, it does an incredible job of visual storytelling, showing not telling, the cinematography is beautiful, and it's as fast paced a film can be, never letting up, without wearing you out. And we're hardly alone in this opinion. T2 is arguably a masterpiece of cinema, for different reasons, those are two very different movies, but as far as making an action epic if there is anyone who can give James Cameron a run for their money then it's not Ridley Scott, definitely not Michael Bay or Zack Snyder, it's George Miller!

It's also a film that flows very well from beginning to end and offereing many surprises. The ending is very astonishing.
