Reminds me of my Lionel train set. Received it as a Christmas gift in '54 along with my kid Brother. I remember running it on the dining room floor and Perry was singing this on Mom's kitchen radio. Good times.

What an utterly marvellous voice Perry Como had. What I find so enchanting is the absolutely "pressureless" way he sang. There will never be another like him. MsG

Perry Como sang the song, Stranger In Paradise dedicated to a guy who loved a lady but seemed not sure if he would be loved too. So, he was was called a stranger in paradise but then there was a chance.to win her.heart as.from the distance he saw her face. With her open arms she reached him out to to give her.love. Perry, your singing voice did inspired many fans of yours. It's so romantic and deeply cool that until this time you're no.longer in this planet your talent cannot just be disregard but be treasured instead, forever. RIP.

This singer had a wonderful voice, and listening to this song is like a return to childhood for me. Very nice to listen again, and to remember my late Kid Sister and I romping around in the house.

Farrar:- Perry Como the golden voice made in heaven, applied his special magic with this wonderful romantic ballad "Stranger In Paradise", with his incomparable performance. All leading male opposition, obliterated into dark shadows of respect & silence. Ladies, he is pleading to be rescued, please oblige immediately. One minor criticism of Perry, when performing live, he seems ill at ease in front of the bright lights when he is facing world TV cameras. Watch the nervous tensions with his hands & fists. Golden words of concern, by Peter E. Farrar.

Terrific rendition of this classic song. And he looked so natural and casual, massaging his wrist as he belts it out. Yet, he sings with so much emotion in his voice. Reminds me of a story I once heard of Ella Fitzgerald eating a hot dog in studio while recording a song. If you've got talent, you can pull it off.

Both Perry and Teresa are dead now. No one cares about their comment, unless you have found this. What lead you here? Hmm, anyways I find obscure comments on KZbin. I point out thoughtless comments, unlike mine, which requires a deeper thought. Your welcome.

There was no lip-syncing in Tv's early days in which Perry was a pioneer. He sang so smoothly and easily but this performance was indeed live.

A great talent , a versatile singer : in "When you were sweet sixteen" , he could be intimate . In "Because" or "Temptation" , he could outsing some of his contemporaries .

Few of this species with such a talent in singing with a voice of attraction , activating the subconscious mind to form a real image of how human expresses his emotion of love through a lyrics by music, harmony of sounds ( the 6th steps of hermetic principle ) nature as a sign of good weather, also thanks to the great thinker "pythagoras" that define the sounds by a piece of string.

Look around 1:17 and you'll see that Perry is lip-syncing. There was lots of that in the early days of TV. If there is no microphone in sight, it was lip-syncing.
@vactisum8 жыл бұрын
There was indeed lip-syncing even in the early days of TV, but this performance wasn't lip-synced. The reason you don't see a microphone is because overhead boom microphones were -- and still are -- the standard method of recording sound on TV and movie productions. Boom mics have been used since the 1920s.
@TerryComo20107 жыл бұрын
NO WAY! The only lip syncing is done by today's "would be singers"
@piervail6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Well at that time all TV singers did it. They rarelay had a 'great orchestra' to play the song so they just play the record and the singer lip-sinced it. And what a voice. My mother was a great fan of him.

Nice voice. um..........he got an itch on his wrist? got nothing better to do with your hands and arms while you are performing live? and NOTE: the carefully rehearsed expressionless face.
