Thank you! This girl just fixed her leaking A/C! There was a blockage in the pvc drain hose. I was able to blow most of it clear but could feel it wasn’t 100%, so I removed it and ran water through it…. A blob of black gunk game out (likely dog hair!) and now it is all clear! NO tools required!

Used my shop vac and sucked the blockage out of the PVC drain tube, tons of nasty water caught in the shop vac. Instantly the new condensation started draining so much faster, no back up. This video just saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you.

Thank you so much! It's 4th of July weekend and my basement was soaked. I replaced the hose so I knew that wasn't the issue. Exactly as you said would happen, once I got the connector off, water gushed out for a while. The connector was all gunked up. I cleaned it out and now its draining perfectly. I feel like I should send you a check or some cookies at least. Thanks again for taking the time to share this with everyone as you saved me having to not only call a professional, but pay extra on a holiday weekend.

Hey just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! it was my drain pan and not my condensate pump, all I did was pop off the clean out and the suction unclogged the drain! Condensate pump immediately kicked on and water drained into my washtub, so proud of myself🤣🤣🤣

Thank you 4 years later. Easy fix for me. As you mentioned there was a lot of water that drained out once the clog broke free.....even more than a towel would soak up and you sure don't want it running into your furnace. I used a piece of cardboard to make a v-channel ramp for the water to drain away from my furnace and into a bucket.

I have to do this tomorrow. It leaked a little beginning the end of last summer and we are supposed to have lots of heat this year and there is that water puddle coming out at the bottom of the combo ac/furnace. My husband died 4 years ago and it has never been cleaned out for the past 12 years that I know of. Maybe much longer as the furnace is 35 years old and the air conditioner is past 20. Yay...thanks for your video. I got the area all cleaned up and the drain pipe all washed out from the 2nd bend on but still a puddle so it's gotta be in one of the two elbows (or in between) that are near where the drain pan is. At least tomorrow will be cooler and the puddle is on a concrete floor! Thanks for the video!!

Today I called my wife while I was at work and I told her to turn on the ac since it was gonna be the first hot day we’ve seen this year 88 degrees so I actually just put a new filter yesterday so she turned it on and I got home about 8 hrs later to find water all around my furnace and sure enough you helped me again!

Great video! I followed your steps and, just like you said, the blockage would be inside the fitting at the furnace if it wasn't immediately in the drain line. I stuck my stretched out hanger into the furnace and... just like that... water came started pouring out! Lol I saved the money of calling an AC guy out, and also able to turn my AC back on without fear of it leaking and further warping my laminate hardwood floors! Thanks, man!

People, if u don’t have knowledge about appliances or things in your home do not try to repair or replace just because you watch a video... Even the things that may seem simple can become a huge problem if not approached correctly

Awesome!! What an amazingly helpful, concise video! Was very worried to find water all over the floor around my furnace (of course on the hottest day of the year) and was not looking forward to the repair bill on this- thank you so much for the tips! Found a bug covered in sludge plugging the plastic connector that connects the condenser drainage pan to the hose- (you weren't kidding about all the water that comes out when it's plugged- glad I had a towel ready for that!). All seems well now. Liked and subscribed- thanks man!!😁

Thanks for this video! I was just about to call an HVAC company when I thought I should Google and found this! Turned out the drainage hose was so clogged I had to take it outside and blast it out with my garden hose. Why was it so clogged? Because I had been away for a few months, and forgot to change the furnace filter before I went away. It got so clogged that it buckled and pulled away on one side so who knows how much dirt and dust got through? But the pvc hose was clogged from one end to the other. Took a while for the water blasting to work and had to reverse ends a few times before I finally got water to come out the other side. I got soaked in the process! Hopefully the drain pan under the evaporator coils isn't full of more debris, but I will now be checking that hose periodically to make sure it's open.

I have large puddles of water from underneath my furnace. I’ve even noticed condensation built up on the outside of the condensate drain and the copper fitting it connects to into the furnace. The copper fitting builds up frost line you would see in a freezer. The evaporator coil is not frozen though. My furnace condensate drain and pan are clear. I poured a half gallon of water directly into the pan and the water drained as quickly as I could pour it. No leakage from the pan. The microchannels appear to be very clean. I replace my air filters within every 3 months. The only thing I notice is there is a lot of water dripping from the copper return u-bends and they have quite a bit of rust built up on them. At times, my A/C cannot keep the house as cool as desired. As if it can’t keep up. The furnace and the A/C are both approaching 24 years of service. I’m guessing I’ll have to call a HVAC tech out.
