Just FYI, I’m an Irish woman who comes from a tradition of tea making. A teapot is used to brew tea. You boil the water in a tea kettle, and pour it over the tea leaves or tea bags in the teapot. So what I’m trying to say is teapots and tea kettles are two very different things. You don’t boil water in a teapot, and you don’t brew tea in a tea kettle. I hope that makes sense!

Hello from Ranch Viejo, TX.! I really enjoy watching you transform furniture into show stoppers. You have great talent and you don't cut corners. You need to stamp or sign your pieces. Goodwill clears out inventory that doesn't sell. Check out their outlets near you. Also clearing out might mean they are bringing in more furniture or they are not carrying furniture anymore. Ask an employee when you are there. Blessings to you.

Estate Sales can be sad. I've noticed more as I get older. It really bothers me to hear people say negative things about items available at them. I'm sure the owners would rather be surrounded by their lifetime of collections than selling them off and being or in a facility somewhere. You're right though. It's part of life.
@twinnish9 ай бұрын
I used to buy and resell, single nightstands. I would generally paint them a kid, friendly color, because twin size beds don’t usually need two nightstands. I sold them all for a decent price. know it’s not going to be as big ticket is too but it’s a project and it’s quick and you can be a little bit more creative with your colors

I have a question for you. One of my favorite places to go and explore furniture is not a resale shop or an estate sale. I like to go to university stores. The places where the local college sells off the office furniture that they've been replacing through the years. And when I was young I was excited to find out that there was also office resale warehouses. Have you ever considered flipping office furniture into Home Goods? With new paint and new hardware what was in an office become something amazing in a kitchen. And since the prices are drop dead low it'd be really exciting to see what you did with it.

I'm glad to see that my mither wasn't the only one who loved tea pots. She didnt really care about the kettles and she didnt drink that much tea, but we had to stop and look at every tea pot she saw when antiquing or garage saling. It brought back memories and the closeness of the mother, daughter bond we had. We akso had been chatting and walked out and forgot to pay and went back. Oops! No harm done. I really miss my Mom. But, love does that. Im glad you are getting the oppurtunity to experience that bond and that love. There is nothing like it.

Love vids w/ your Momma!! Our Goodwills do not have any furniture in like half the state of Oklahoma. Asked them why and they said it was more money for them to accept furniture and was trash (pillows missing, smelled like cat pee, damaged springs) which caused them to pay more money for disposal than they made profit of good furniture. We do have nice Salvation Army's for furniture and that is where people take it since Goodwill will not.

The trinket box that you picked up is a typical tea caddy design intended for loose tea, but you can keep your tea sachets in it. Very elegant. I have also wandered out of a store with an item in my handbag or pocket without paying (I sometimes put small items in those places when I need my hands free to look for and handle other items). I have always returned to pay for the items, sometimes a day later after I find them. I am lucky that I don't attract attention (being rather a privileged person in this culture) and don't have to pay big consequences for my absent-mindedness. As I age and become more dotty, I'd better stay away from retail establishments.
