On the topic of fake babies, coming from someone who lost and miscarried their child, I whole heartedly feel like it would be detrimental to my mental health if I had this fake baby and tried to “heal” from it. It would only be a constant reminder of my daughter and losing her. Jesus is the only way to heal from that kind of heart break and i just feel like it would make things worse. And also it’s just straight weird…. lol

Hi I heard about your video from a reborn channel. I am a reborn collector. I am having lots of fun in my hobby. I grew up collecting cabbage patch kids, Madame Alexander and Effanbee dolls. I would suggest not being so judgmental. I am autistic...didn't know it til I was an adult. I was always the "weird" kid and now I guess I am the weird adult who doesn't care what the normies think of me. Dolls are my special interest and always have been. I have kids of my own. They aren't replacing babies for me. My grandmother was a collector of porcelain dolls and after she died I inherited those. I love all sorts of dolls. Everyone has their reasons for liking these dolls. The artists who sculpt and paint these dolls are super talented and collectors of reborns are supporting artists. That's a great thing! If you don't like them and find them disturbing then okay, don't get any. But don't try to put down people who like them. It is really not necessary.

Adoption and fostering is a responsibility. A hobby is something you do for fun. Ok…I have one of those dolls. She looks very real and she’s weighted to feel like a real baby in your arms. Who doesn’t love the feel of holding a baby? And you can’t just go ask to hold a stranger’s baby. I do NOT take her out and pretend she’s real. I didn’t even name her. She doesn’t have a stroller, lol. I think that’s the difference. She’s just cute and my nieces loved playing with her when they visited. My sister in law, who can’t have children was fascinated by how real she looked and simply enjoyed holding her because she felt real. Like when an artist sculpts something and people say “wow, it looks so real!”. That’s glorified, but you can’t have a real-looking doll? As long as you understand it’s just a doll, I see no problem with it. I actually feel really judged by this video. You don’t give a little grace for people who simply think they’re cute. People collect dolls. It’s fine in that context.

I have a slightly realistic doll that I got in the '90s. It feels like a real newborn when you hold it. I was maybe 9 or 10 when I got it, and I enjoyed pretending it was a real baby. I still have it because my daughters like playing with it, and I do admire the craftsmanship that went into making it. If you're not the crazy person parading it around while pretending it's real, she's really not talking about you, and you shouldn't feel offended. She just doesn't like those dolls, and that's okay. It's her opinion.

My grandma died of Alzheimer’s and in the memory care wing of the nursing home she lived in at the end of her life had a bunch of those lifelike dolls for residents to “take care of” and it brought a lot of joy and gave folks a feeling of purpose

I do still respect them and the choices they choose for their lives they’re not doing anything wrong in my eyes. Preaching the gospel is good, except Allie's definition of the gospel isn't the good news taught in the Bible. Allie believes in Calvanism that teaches Jesus only died for a handpicked, select few and not for all of humanity. She believes that God predetermined before he created the world who will have eternal life and who will be condemned eternal hell. You, as an individual, have no will to decide for yourself if you will have faith and become a follower of Jesus. Jesus only died for those he preselected. Calvanism believes that if you become a Christian you must have been one of the preselected ones for salvation but if you never do than you were one of the ones preselected by God for hell. This is not the good news, and this is not the loving, merciful, just God of the Bible. Calvanism uses a lot of the same terms as the gospel message but defines those terms differently than the Bible does.

I had a miscarriage in December. I miss my baby everyday they would’ve been born around August. I understand wanting to hold a baby and take care of one. It’s like something is missing from you. But the whole baby doll thing is unhealthy… Keep living for your baby don’t stay stuck in the past. Live your best life and stay healthy so you have a chance to give them a sibling. That’s how I see it.

Not true my Lung doc says for me to keep up the hobby as it helps me..I know for myself the dolls relax me. I not only collect but I make them. It was a God sent many years ago when I discovered this hobby. I have made many ladies and children happy with these dolls and now my own mom who suffers with dementia they calm her. For most of us that I know we just have a love of the artform of these dolls and yes we know they are not real!!! It's a hobby like any other like men who collect trains, hot wheels, and baseball cards. And, boy I have a relative who has a whole collection of a closet full of baseball cards even gets up an hour before work to look at them but I don't look down on him for it! It's like my mom used to say what people don't understand they assume things. Again, it's just a hobby that helps many and makes many people happy🥰

Okay, so as someone who used to be a part of the furry world ( and thank God redeemed!) I never thought it was appropriate to go to places where animals were not allowed. Now this girl was out side but still… My husband and I took our children to the mall and in the children’s play around and 2 furrys were there playing around the children. We took our children and told the furry people this is not appropriate to be doing. I told my husband when I was in that scene I never thought to go to the mall children’s area to “play” so I fully believe you when you’ve mentioned before that this is grooming behavior and a deep spiritual issue! Pray for them to repent as I have. God is so good and only He can transform the heart. ❤️

But is it healthy? Many can’t deal with life so they do drugs, become alcoholic, get addicted to porn. Ultimately it’s people trying to fill a void only Jesus can. If you can’t have kids then that pain needs to be acknowledged and purpose needs to be found elsewhere. I used to be a reborn collector and I never saw the dolls as real babies or did roleplay. But I always loved dolls. I collected many and I did enjoy manly the photography part of it. And I had fun photographing. I do have two kids and they never like them but they knew it was just a hobby for me. . I also, learnt how to made them because I am creative. I sold most of my collection though. I do agree, a lot of people in the community see them as real babies and after I was born again the Lord guide me to sell most of them and I can see the idolization of the dolls. I do admire the work put on the dolls to look realistic. Not everyone who own a doll is crazy though. I worked with the elderly and they really enjoy the dolls. You can see how happy they were holding them.

I like dolls. I like restoring and customizing them, but I don't play with them in public. Playing with dolls relieves stress, but I wish people would do it in their house, not in public..😢

I'm not sure I agree with you about the dolls. Women are designed to have babies-some cant. You and I, Allie, don't know how it feels to not be able to bear children. It's heart breaking for these women- heart breaking for me to see their sadness. Knowing it's instinctual for women to want children reminds me of women in memory care centers who are clutching and rocking a baby doll.

Fully healthy and no childhood/parent issues adult here, and love going to Disney World with friends. My fiance almost took me for our honeymoon… but it was the one place I didn’t want to go for hm! In regards to the Ukrainian woman; I came to USA when I was ten (in 2001) and have not seen ANYONE of a different race until that point. I definitely felt cooler being in a classroom with kids of different races! 😂 It felt a little bit like reaching heaven since everyone was different (some many accents too! So cool!) and even kids with different disabilities were NOT laughed at but attending the same public schools. Now, on that note.. I see zero reason for a video like that.
