I love watching those ears flop around to the music. It's just too cute. The points you brought up about styrofoam are the same reasons why motorcycle helmets are supposed to be replaced after they've been through an impact. It also dry rots fairly quickly and is very sensitive to a lot of cleaning chemicals.

Hey Stormi, Hey Mugiwara. Nice Video! I learns a lot about suit making materials. Something that's allays on my mind and often overlooked is the wash-ability of different materials. Maybe you could focus on that in some of your future videos ? Just an some Input you might find useful.

How awesome! Collabs are great! Also, paper has a low heat capacity which means it changes temperature pretty fast thus getting hot faster but holds heat not as well as a high heat capacity substance

No! Paper and cardboard mold and can actually kill you! I can't stress this enough, buy foam please! :

Kaela I wasn't saying anyone should buy paper for a Fursuit, I was saying it is a heat hazard of sorts though I understand my comment can be interpreted in many different ways, it's unavoidable in this day and age

I have a cardboard fursuit head but the only reason it's lasted so long it's because it's more of a decoration and if I do wear it I don't wear it for long and I only wear in the cold

Stormi you always try to put great info out, that is soooo very helpful, you gave me a few ideas for making a fursuit head. Styrofoam can be used but it needs to be covered with with either carbon fiber or fiberglass, once that is done acetone can be used to remove the foam. Not only will the head be lite but very strong and durable. Thanks for the ideas you are full of great info, keep up the good work, stay fluffy, hope your dental work comes out, I am in about the same place, I broke a couple of teeth last week. Have a great week.

something else people might have the idea to use because it's easily obtainable: NEVER use floral foam. floral foam is stiff and crumbly (and it WILL crumble, especially if you carve and wear it), doesn't breathe, and can dent or break even if coated. i've seen it in dollar stores so it might be tempting to younger furs and people on a budget, but it's really not worth it.

Great info just like the last one! Thanks again for the heads up on safety factors when constructing heads. I've surely been surprised by upholstery foam's versatility and ventilation...was really concerned about that so I did vent my own head...it turned out that much better! Grateful for the tips once again.

Are any fursuit building materials antimicrobial plastics like what’s used in cutting boards and other kitchen utensils? If so, that would greatly help reduce the risk of mildew and other stanky crap.

@BruzoDragonius4 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed this collab between you and Magiwara. And finally someone in the fandom besides me know about foam clay. May I add when making sock paws for fursuits, I would recommend foam clay over sculpy when making claws for them. As I tried using sculpy to make foot claws and I find them very uncomfortable and it could really cause blisters on your toes. Its very uncomfortable if you use sculpy for feet claws.

I use camping mat foam for ears only is that...still ok or is that still bad? I have/would never use camping mat foam for the base. I use Upholstery foam for the majority of the head.
