How is this relevant to TB being given a knighthood? I don't agree with him being given a knighthood, but the veneration of people who have committed evil acts, or were despicable, isnt particularly new. Lady Astor, for example, renowned anti-Semite and Nazi sympathiser, has had a statue unveiled by Boris Johnson. Did that signal the beginning of an Orwellian nightmare?

Our presence in Afghanistan was questionable at best. Claiming the twin towers was an act of war as an excuse for invading was pretty tenuous at best. We tried and failed to subdue the Pashtun tribesmen at the end of the 19th century and Churchill had some pretty unkind, albeit it true, views on the matter. Then the Russians tried and they failed too. The Americans had both Korea and Vietnam experiences to draw upon. In Vietnam they lost fair and square, fighting exactly the same enemy - civilians with guns. This was less of an issue in Korea, but the ended up where they started, so could hardly be claimed a victory, never mind success. Exactly the same thing happened in Afghanistan, where they lost again. This was pretty predictable and we should have stayed well away from what was a terrorist action rather than an act of war. Iraq was entirely different. The Americans had no business there and nor did we. This was entirely manufactured by George W Bush, a man a double figure IQ, and Blair who simply wanted to go down in history as a great war leader. He has clearly succeeded insofar as he is getting his knighthood. Instead, he should be in the Hague on war crimes charges but somehow, Teflon Tone has avoided any charges. If Boris had any sense, he would have him arrested and charged for waging unprovoked war, the precise reason for Gulf 1 when Sadam invaded Kuwait, which was totally legal. Instead, Blair is being rewarded for setting the Middle East ablaze. What little respect I had left for Boris has gone. The man is a complete liability and disgrace.

i well remember how he consistently denied any suggestions that he might have been attending Mass, etc and then, as soon as he was no longer PM, he openly converted to Roman Catholicism. He said that one of the reasons he hadn't done so before was "political". So under his leadership his party drove abortion and other issues which run contrary to Roman Catholic dogma and then when he's out of office he openly formally converts, despite having attended mass throughout his period in office. Blair and Bush I believe went into Iraq for reasons of grandouer, Bush to do what his daddy didn't do and Blair because he wanted a Falklands factor. I firmly believe that the reasons Bush senior and John major didn't finish the job in the first gulf War was although he was a tyrant saddam was their tyrant, he kept the levant under control to an extent. Iran and Syria were wary of him. You get rid of him and look what happened, the whole of the middle east decided they would get rid of theirs, Cameron did the same with Libya, got rid of gaddafi and look how well that's gone. As I say they may be tyrants but they are their tyrants, keep them under wraps by all means but get rid and you destabilise the whole area.

Those poor soldiers did not even have enough jackets to protect them from bullets. Some had to hand theirs over to other soldiers who hadn't any and some of those left without died as a result. I will never refer to him as Sir anything.. He is an evil, selfish egotistical demon.
