Fury is afraid because he knows Usyk is a great boxer. He tried to break him mentaly and failed at every opportunity. Usyk won every confrontation and came out on top everytime. His first encounter with Fury was when he fotobombed Fury and Bob Arum. Fury came over and looked over him sayong „l am bigger”. Usyk taped him on the shoulder and said with a smile „but i am better”. This encounter brought fear into Furys heart. This is when he started demanding half a billion £ to step in the ring with Usyk. When Usyk beat everyone and only Fury remained and the fams were pushing for the Undisputed fight he staged an easy third fight with Chisora and high with the victory in a stadium packed with his roaring fans in his him back yard he tried to use this maximum confidence and public preasure situation to break Usyk psychologically and make him wearry. The fact Usyk did not budgemade Fury scared of Usyk even more to the point he didnMt want to fight Usyk no matter what. To save face he tried to price himself out, but Fury called his bluff and agreed to 70/30. This move made Fury even more scared. When Fury met Usyk prior to the Nganou fight he tried to controll Usyk asking him to hig him. Usyk came over and picked up the giant. This made Fury yet again even more unease and fearfull. This press conferences was dominated by Usyk despite Fury trying to outsourcing him ane be loud and obnoctious to project control and dominance. This failed miserubly. During the face of Fury wanted to „impose himself physically in Usyk”but Usyk not only stood his ground but pushed him away with ease. Fury is behaving like a small dog that wants to scare his opponent makeing his fear behind loud and agresive bahaviour. Fury is scared and tries to intimidate/scare Usyk but failes every time. The fact Fury cannot break threw Usyks armour scares Fury as he knows he wil not be able to controll Usyks behaviour which means he will nit have psychological advantage over Usyk. Facing a fearless man makes Fury even more scared and this makes him more unease and angry

Thers a good documentary from the Usyk Huck fight called Usyk vs Huck the day after documentary. The documentary followes both fighters from the press conferences and face to faces and what happened in the lockers, up to the fight, the fight itself and press conferences after the fight. What is very interesting is how frightened Huck is of Usyk despite behaving agresivly and arogantly during press conferences and face offers he is scard and broken psychologically. This is clear from his talks with the coach and his behaviour especially compared to Usyk who is relaxed, chill, unbeatable and very confident. Fury behaves in a very similar way.

If you are a boxing fan and want to understand what happens behind the scenes and in the heads of boxers prior to fights tou will enjoy it. Interview conducted during different stages of the event really show what is going in the boxers heads well. It shows the psychology of the „small dog” that want’s to hide his fear and insecurities behind obnoctious behaviour. Boxers that behave agresive, push and or shout during a face off try to hide fear. To hide fear they behave obnoctiously. In most cases when a face off starts the fighter that starts to loose it does something agresive because he cannot take the stare. Its a way to regain controll after loosing the staredown. When a boxer starts to feel fear he behaves like Huck to mask it. It was tru in Hucks case and it is true in Furys case. If Fury beleieved that Usyk was an easy opponent he would take the fight much earlyer and not duck him for 2 years. Fury is a boxer and he knows why Usyk is good. He saw what he did with AJ and contrary to what he says he knows that AJ tried everything and lost.

Usyk is a credit to himself, his country, and his sport. He’s been messed about from pillar to post by Tyson. He has stayed calm even when Tyson threatened to Sue him if he didn’t honour their fight on 23rd December. Imagine if that was the other way round!? Usyk was unfazed and even said he wanted to fight Tyson at his best. What a gentleman. Now he has to sit through a tirade of threats and insults. Obviously trying to get into Usyk’s head. Don’t think it has. But Tyson has screamed that he is going to absolutely destroy Usyk. Fury has GOT to deliver and pulverise his weak, ugly little opponent

Rooting for Usyk but I know if Fury turns up Usyk will probably lose. My take is that if he turns up on point he’ll be able to use the jab all night and outbox him on the outside with his reach advantage if he chooses to basically keeping usyk out of range at all times unless he wants to take huge risks to get inside. Secondly he could impose his will on him with a tight defense and come forward at will if he’s not worried about usyks strength and power and use dirty boxing, clinch fighting and leaning/holding and basically drowning him. Hopefully I’m wrong and fury’s over the hill but that’s just what I see if he does in fact turn up 😒
