These mats are transparent to allow for perfect applique placement. Their tacky surface holds pieces in place easily. Mats work with temperatures up to 420 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Easily clean with warm water (air dry) or just put it in the top rack of your dishwasher! This mat is perfect for all of your applique projects!

I just bought one of these sheets and wool mat. I did an applique project with my 3 year old granddaughter. It was so helpful and she could be successful. Now I'm saving up for a lightbox. Thank you for your good explanations.

Love it the table runner. Jen you need to have one of the larger wool pressing mats for those bigger projects.

I love all of your scenic table runners but do you think you could come up with a smaller version. Not everyone has large family get-togethers or large tables but would still like to decorate with cute things like your runners.

The lightbox is helpful when you already have some fabric/layers laid down (for more detailed applique pieces). Hope this makes sense! -Michelle

The wool pressing nat allows heat to go though it. Won't that break the glass on the light mat under it? Are these the same type of silicone mats we use to bake cookies on?
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 4 жыл бұрын
We would recommend placing your pressing mat on a surface other than your Lightbox, so you don't accidentally iron on it. These fusing mats are a similar style to the baking sheets. - Morgan

Hi Jen I’m knew to appliqué am I understanding if you have this fuse and view mat then you don’t need wonder under?
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Karen! As shown in the video, the pieces that Jen is using on the mat are already pre-fused with our Heat N' Bond Lite that is the same thing as the Wonder Under you mentioned. The Fuse and View Mat is used for placement of the pieces. The fusible webbing on the back of those pieces is what helps them stick to the background fabric on the project. Please let us know if you have any other questions! ~Leah

They are similar but the Fuse And View mat is made for applique projects. This is a great mat and we highly recommend it! Here is a link to our website with more information. www.shabbyfabrics.com/c5278/quilting-notions/applique-mats Hope this helps! - Abby

I’m not sure you’ll even get this. I screwed up and cut out all of my orange pieces, really small ones, before I ironed them on the heat and bond. They are all different fabrics and they are all cut the exact size they are supposed to be. Got any tips on how I can bond them to the glue side? Would a pressing mat work for that? I needed about 270. That is how many I cut out. I hope this isn’t a learning curve for me and I have to do it all over again. Thank you for any help. April Hamilton.

Hi April! Try a small batch first, but I believe you may be able to get this to work if you place the fabrics on the Heat’N Bond, then place your pressing mat on top. Please try it with a small batch and low heat to start. Hope this helps :) -Michelle

@@ShabbyFabrics OMGosh! Thank you so much for responding. But I have been working on this for 2 days. This is what I learned. I saw somewhere to use parchment paper and it worked amazingly well. The mat worked okay but for some reason the glue stuck to it. It easily cleaned off though. Just thought you might want to know. So impressed that you responded so quickly too. Have a great week. @ShabbyFabrics 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary! There isn't a difference. If you purchased the Fusamat, you're good to go! The only reason we found a new product is because we can't get the Fusamat anymore. The company is no longer in business. Hope that helps! - Morgan

Do I have to have an ironing board underneath? Thank you!
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you are using the Fuse and View mat, when using heat (such as an iron), there should be an ironing board or wool mat directly underneath of it. Hope that makes sense! -Michelle

I was always told when using a wool mat to use it on a solid surface such as a wood table as the heat goes through many layers. would it not ruin the light box with heat?
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 4 жыл бұрын
Prolonged use of an iron on a wool mat will indeed heat through many layers. However, pressing from on top of the Fuse and View for a short amount of time, without steam, should not heat through all layers. When using a wool pressing mat to protect your light box, always check to make sure the heat is not penetrating through all layers, thus damaging the light box. ~Leah

I saw in another video where you utilized the Fusamat. Do you prefer the Fuse And View Mat?
@ShabbyFabrics

We've enjoyed both products a lot. We found the Fuse And View when we were notified that we could no longer buy the Fusamat. The company is no longer making them, so this is our alternative. If you haven't gotten a Fusamat yet, we suggest this one because it's so much larger you can do bigger projects, but both are great! - Morgan
