This is my first time seeing a tutorial where the instructor is actively teaching a student. 99% of tutorials are usually just the instructor showing step by step and it's really unique to see something like this.

Thanks so much! It is quite daunting to teach a completely brand new student and then put the journey online for many to watch, but I feel it was very practical for brand new learners. Wow, what an amazing tutorial series. Your idea of teaching someone that has barely any previous knowledge of CAD/3D modelling and then posting it to a public channel like this is something you just don’t see on KZbin. Thank you!

Thank you for your comment and encouragement. It’s true, it was a little daunting at first, because you never know how a person learns or responds to teaching, but Dan is such a good student and applies himself well. Glad this series is helping so many out there!

Hello again! I like this format and intend to follow along. However, I like my screen to look EXACTLY like yours, with the view cube and axes exactly the same. It seems to be important to me. I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get this to look like it and of course, get frustrated, etc. Can you offer any advice? If I join the channel as a member do I get prompt response to my stupid questions? Do aluminum members get lower or less prompt service? I'm seriously interested.
@learnitalready8 ай бұрын
Hello again 👋 Thanks for reaching out. First and foremost, you are not alone in feeling frustrated when not being able to figure things out. I am amazed to hear stories of ones like you that are pressing on and not giving up. Excellent job! If you join the channel as a member, I will always do my best to respond to your questions. Oftentimes I use questions from members as a basis for an entire tutorial if possible, or will talk about it at some point. Right now, we are still a relatively small channel and so I am able to respond to most comments. I can’t promise that I will respond to every question immediately, but I genuinely try to answer all questions (as you can see if you scroll through the comments of each video). If you become a Titanium member, we will definitely give your questions priority over anyone else and give a monthly shoutout to you on our videos. We truly appreciate that you are considering. Thank you immensely!

Great video you answered a lot of my questions with them! Im looking at your course, is there a summary of each chapter? I did one and two but it looks like later on in the paid course it focuses on CNC and tool paths. I am just using for 3D printing so wouldn't need those skills.
@learnitalready25 күн бұрын
Great question! The first 6 hour sessions all focus on design. Session 7 focuses on CNC. Session 8 focuses mostly on troubleshooting. So, most of the course is dedicated to design which is definitely usable with 3D printing.

Greetings. I just finished Lesson 4 on Udemy and I had a question... When I did the homework after lesson three (homework was the mounting bracket), I was able to fully contain the sketch, including the little lock symbol in the browser area. When I later followed along in class, the lesson went well, but while the sketch behaved like it was constrained, I didn't get the lock symbol. I was really watching for it and assumed I was doing something wrong. Is the lock symbol the verification that a sketch is fully constrained? Is there such a thing as constrained vs fully constrained? Am I wrong to obsess over that little lock? :)

It is so nice to hear from you Jerry! Thanks for reaching out. How about this: can you forward your Fusion file to me please? I will check it out and post a little video on the Udemy course as an update. I want to help all students that reach out to me that are taking the course. The best way is through another tutorial video. You can find our email on the about page to our KZbin channel. Thanks!

Can you make two separate extrudes from one sketch? I was trying to make a circular body with a circular brim. Which just consisted of drawing a circle within another. When I select the inner circle to extrude the outer disappears.
@learnitalready26 күн бұрын
Yes, absolutely. When you extrude, Fusions assumes you would like to hide the sketch that you just extruded from. So, you just need to make it visible again. In the browser (left side of screen where it shows Sketches, Bodies, etc.) you need to click on the little arrow beside Sketches to expand the Sketches folder. Find the sketch that you just extruded from and click the little eye 👁️ beside it. Now you can use that same sketch to extrude again. You just finished Day 1, but the rest of the course can be purchased on Udemy. The information is found in the description to the tutorial. It teaches the aforementioned skill and a whole lot more.

I appreciate your explanation of the three drawing planes, I too like to begin my drawings on the "XY" plane. One way to make this selection quicker is to hover your cursor over the lower center area of the canvas between the green and red lines. When you click this area it selects the "XY" plane, you can verify that you chose the correct plane by seeing the "view cube" rotate to "Top." The explanation of how to view the object using the view cube, mouse, scroll button, etc. is well done. Every artist takes pride in what they create by seeing it in different orientations.
