Great video. Lots of good info. Something I've been trying to do is import a 3D solid from autocad into Fusion360 to set it up for my cnc router, but I can't get it to work....Are you able to explain how it's done ?

So I watched it again. Where or how do I tell the machine to lift the bit and bring router to my xy 0 after it's done pocketing or contouring. So say I can pocket then router comes to xy 0 for me to change the bit and start contour?

When you deleted G54 and made it G0 Z10, is the Z 10 millimeters? If I'm using inches I would not want to use 10, correct?

Very clear. Will try something like this, job 1, when machine arrives in three days. I thought I'd hear where you inserted a pause to change tools , but didn't. What did I miss? Thanks

Thanks Paul. You would break the job into separate programs. Check out about 19:30 in the video. If you use different tools you want to post process the operations separately. The machine will run the operations with one tool and stop once it finishes the operation.. Once complete, you would change the tool out to the next one you plan to run. It's also a good safety measure to unplug your router before you change tools, just in case.

Hello hope you can help .... I’m trying to engrave into a 3/4 piece of wood and I’m following every video and and create the G Code for it , and when I go to send it , the machine shoots up in Z Axis every time and has crashed ....does this have to do with the clearance? Or in the stock settings , please help ?

Hi, you can try leaving G54 in the code, touching off your cutter to set your Z height to zero at the top of your workpiece and running your code one line at a time until you solve the problem.

For some reason, every time I select my necessary geometries and other parameters for a 2D pocket, Fusion 360 keeps failing to generate the toolpath. Any ideas as to how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

It would be best to upload the model to the Autodesk Fusion forum and let them have a look at your specific situation. There are a number of reasons why it might not generate from the tool being too big to fit to the ramp settings being unsuitable for the pocket.

The one thing I hate about this program is Autodesk forcing me to use their stupid “cloud”! I do NOT want any of my data on some company server were hackers are hitting that server a 1000 time a second!
