Fusion 360 - PART #4 - How to import massive MESH models, From Open body to Closed body.

If you are like me, and use the free version of fusion, you have probably pulled out a few too many hairs on crashes because you could not import a MESH-file (step,STL,obj etc) as one big model.
Let's complete this series of 4 videos, by not giving up on re-assembling the split model in fusion, and fixing broken/corrupt/missing edges after you have a open-body model made.

I have spent 4 days trying to do exactly what you have done. An editable solid to modify and then 3D print with Prusa slicer and Prusa MK3 S printer. If the model is not correct in software there is no sense running the print or cutting out parts. I have a CNC router (my build), small CNC milling machine (my build), small laser, printer and a plasma cutter that needs to be completed (my build). Fusion ( paid version ) is what I use for all designs for all running machines. Stl's are the most time consuming and frustrating to modify from downloaded designs. Thanks for pointing me to a to a better way for manipulating Stl's. Looking forward to more of your videos. 👍👍

Hello carlgodfrey5806, I guess to understand your note properly that even when using the paid version of fusion360 there is no easy way to convert a stl(mesh) to a solid body.!?

Paid version give you better ability to import, but may not be faster. Haven't tried as i never had paid version.
