Technically, it’s not cocky if it’s true. Super Saiyan Vegito had an enormous gap in power gap over Super Buu Fusion. That moment was a callback to The a Frieza Arc when Frieza (being cocky) thought his level of power was far greater than Goku’s bcuz @ this point and time, frieza & Goku no longer knew the accurate numerical value of the power level. However, evidently, Goku was darn near equal to or slightly stronger than final form frieza @ 25%. 30 million is 1/4 of 120 million. Frieza had to suppress himself to less of a fraction to beat Vegeta (1.2 million). So you can see why frieza was truly being cocky. No warrior b4 Goku had the power to challenge him. John Mc Vegito was never meant to exist. Gogeta was supposed to appear in the show but since they used potara, Tori decided to use Fusion in the movie. Better choice as movie budget Gogeta is better.

Gogeta was originally written by Takao Koyama for the Fusion Reborn movie. The character design was by Yamamuro Tadayoshi. This was before Akira Toriyama even touched the character but long after Akira Toriyama created Vegito for the Manga. So no, Gogeta wasnt part of Toriyama's design. Vegito was the original intended character for the Buu Saga. EDIT: You are partially correct Gogeta debuted before Vegito, but still wasnt Toriyama's creation. Fusion with the potara was an attempt to not step on the toes of the anime designers. Though the character name was still meant to be Vegito.

well from dragon ball and dragon ball z, we know you only need a power level of ~300 to destroy a moon, which doesnt have a molten core that you can use to implode it, so with available resources, we can conclude that beerus' sneeze is atleast a 300 power level sneeze, but since its god ki, that ki is basically a tier above all normal ki, so it would most likely kill frieza as easily, even though its objectively weak.

@Mike Perez vegito was the very first fusion ever to use a god form, he had no way of knowing that if he used to much power in such a short burst that he would defuse, gogeta would probably have done the same think (that is if he would survive that long against fused zamasu), the only reason he didnt defuse was because gogeta slowly ramped up his power against broly, most likely cause he knew what would happen from their experience as vegito. So vegito isnt dumb, he's just...first. (and if vegitos the dumb one then why did gogeta try to kill broly after hitting him with soul punisher and broly survived, confirming that he wasn't evil.)

well it was mostly to balance the two, potara was too easy to pull off compared to the fusion dance if both were the same power. then goku and vegeta would have an instant win card with them everywhere they go and that'd be lame as hell. now they have to consider if it's worth it to risk the fusion running out in time so they can fuse faster or if they have enough time to pull off the dance so they can utilize the full 30 minutes.

Potara Fusion does actually have a weakness that the Fusion Dance doesn't, though. If the Potara Fusion is overwhelmed by a sufficiently powerful attack, the Potara Earrings can shatter, ending the fusion prematurely. We see this when Kefla gets defeated by Goku in the Ultra Instinct Sign state.

did the potara earings break when vegito entered buu's belly and they defused? The scene with kefla seemed more like she used every ounce of her power in that final attack "because he cant dodge in mid air" and goku knocked her out. She didnt have any energy left. Also, im not too sure, but SSB vegito lasted for 5 minutes, im not sure how many minutes passed during keflas fusion, but at the end of the fight she most definitely used up the last of her power right as goku hit her

they never really retconned anything. they just gave reason to why vegito was able to conveniently unfuse back in z. it never made sense why it was permanent for the kais and not goku and vegeta because they never explained it. I think it makes much more sense that such a powerful ability that can be achieved so easily would have more limits for mortals than the gods the earrings were made for.

@@str9306 Nope. He was toying with zamasu the entire fight. The problem was zamasu was getting powerful and the damage wasn't enough thanks to the immortal nature of half part. So permanent damage wasn't possible. Zamasu ended up losing a lot of power by going into a form with low speed and energy drain. It can be explained by trunks ssj buff form grade 3. Vegeto was always more powerful than any character in the entire franchise. The closest being gogeta. Followed by Jiren And MuI goku Broly.

I've always liked Gogeta more. I remember when I was a little kid I would see & draw dragon ball pictures before we even had the show here. Gogeta's outfit always struck a cord with me, its amazing. Vegito would be a little cooler appearance wise if Potara earrings gave them Kaioshin clothing instead of a mesh (color swap basically) between the two characters.

the gogeta dance lasts 30 minutes no matter how much energy is used. based on the anime the potara fusion lasts a full hour when in base form, but at the same time if we go by the anime then vegito can only last for about 3 minutes of fighting as blue before de fusing. also it's been stated that both of their power is exactly the same, the only difference being personalities.

it does but it's technically called assimilation. you aren't necessarily fusing two people together as you are giving one person another persons power and abilities without losing your personality. still technically fusion since the other person disappears into you.

I feel like the fusion dance is stronger because it wouldn’t have so many things to accomplish just to turn into a weaker form plus it has less time to fight with because of this it would probably have a zenkai boost on how short the time limit is. And I’m pretty sure that Vegito only lowered fused Zamasu’s strength and still didn’t defeat him by “themselves”. If Cheelai didn’t wish for the dragon balls to return him back to his home planet then Gogeta probably would’ve wiped him out into the sun. But it’s your choice on who you like more
