Fusionist Overview | New Early Access Mecha Tactics

Fusionist combines mecha, turn based strategy, and army development in some pretty interesting ways, and I enjoyed my time with it. @@TitaniumLegman Lancer Tactics is wonderful honestly, it's based off the Lancer Tabletop Roleplaying Game by Massif Press. It's still in a backer phase for kickstarters, but the creator is very chill and would probably communicate with you (obviously I can't speak for them etc). I feel it's a game that has a tonne of room to grow, and the unique art style works in it's favour. Hope this helps :)

The cannibalize-to-improve and the repair timer(s) make this sound more than a little like a gacha game-or at least that it's borrowing a number of gacha mechanics. Does it give you that impression?

Looks neato. I'm guessing it's simpler than mechwarrior but teambuilding is faster? The terrain features don't seem that varied. Visually there's a lot, but how many of those function mechanically distinct?

I encountered more as I got into later missions, like lava that would damage you if you ended your turn in it, or ice that could freeze you. I didn't encounter anything that seemed to give stat bonuses or anything like that tho, sadly.

Not sure I like the chasis idea. It just looks like they took "human classes" and gave them "mech skins".

It can feel that way, but I do get the idea that certain builds can only operate on certain frames. Like the bulkiest chassis being the one that can carry the biggest guns just makes sense, you know?

@@TitaniumLegman - Yea, that makes sense. And I guess they didn't go "full RPG classes with mech skins". Some games do this, and it is sort of disappointing. I guess some variation is needed to give a dynamic rock-paper-scissors aspect to force construction. But I like that you covered this and being games like this more attention.

I was kinda curious as a Front mission and Vanguard Bandits fan but instantly lost it when I saw it was Gacha. I'm so done with Live service...fortunately it seems on the downturn but not fully yet it seems. It's just as well I'm more of a story guy then a mechanics guy anyway.

Three reasons: 1. It looked, and is, fun. 2. It's my job to play and discuss turn based strategy games. 3. I guess don't look at all the videos and streams I've done of Sword of Convallaria and Genshin impact lol

Were you aware this game is an NFT title when you accepted the sponsorship?

It can't be an NFT game, it's on Steam. Steam has a complete ban on anything NFT related. Besides, I don't work with anything using NFTs, something my YT partner is aware of in contract negotiations

@TitaniumLegman I'm not into sending links on social platforms because it's bad habit to click on those, but you can search Fusionist + NFT, ACE, blockchain or some oher keyword. On the Steam discussion forum the 2nd thread (for me right now) has links to the marketing material advertising the blockchain side of this game.

There's a lot of material you can search, even on Steam discussion forum, that alleges Fusionist is a blockchain title tied to ACE crypto. If I'm mistaken I apologize, you don't strike me as one of "those" creators, that's why I asked.

Interesting, I'll look into it. That said, nothing related to nfts, the block chain, web3 or anything else was discussed or mentioned in any way in the contract and brief for this project. So I'm inclined to believe this is a different title, or a re-launch to remove those aspects or smth (which has always been stated in any other contract or brief I've seen when those elements are present)

Some of the best rpg games in the last 5 years have been gacha. Can't fault getting thousands of hours from AAA quality games without spending a penny 😁
