@@markg7030 which is probably why The Man made it to the carny show so quickly! Although I would have loved to see The Man’s ‘58 Bonneville go up against a ‘56 DeSoto Adventurer which had an early 330 hemi. Too bad Harry Baldwin (the bad guy) wasn’t up for a drag race.

1948 baby here: Everything in the house stopped when Sea Hunt came on. Mom sometimes made us a bowl of popcorn before it started. We had a little black and white TV with a rabbit ears antennae which had to be fine tuned during the show. Great memories.

Great video. I remember watching this series as a kid. It's surprising to see the variety of vehicles used. Seems that most TV series of the day stuck with a specific brand that may have doubled as sponsors - although my memory could indeed be faulty. That was a very long time ago.
@dillysgirl4everКүн бұрын
Pauley, you’re absolutely right. Many shows back then either were sponsored by automakers or had contracts with automakers to use their cars exclusively on the show (Andy Griffith Show is an example of that). Sea Hunt, being a syndicated series and having just local or regional sponsors, had no such problem.
@1940limitedКүн бұрын
I think you're right on that.

@@dillysgirl4ever Nothing wrong with Fords but the scenes are obviously staged when the same make of cars are used everywhere. I always noticed that stuff as a kid watching these shows plus Ford isn't my favorite brand.

Mike filled his tanks with Nitrous Oxide and drove around like that. It’s the reason he went through so many cars.
@JAMESPATTERSON-mk9sr2 күн бұрын
I can understand high priced lawyer Perry Mason driving different expensive cars on his vid . Rugged Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson on Sea hunt must have made a fortune to drive a different car in addition to maintaining scuba diving equipment in every episode . Maybe the difference was that old Perry had to pay for Miss Della's wardrobe and changing coiffeur and Paul Drake' s seemingly world wide detective business .
