Heyy, glad to see another vid dude. I was actually just looking into these dates literally yesterday! The whole episode of these side ops happening in December '74, then with the supposed March setting of the main mission, there seems to be something wonky with that timeline. I think the whole thing really depends on when the Peace Day celebration was planned to happen. I kind of assumed it was probably sometime between December 25 and January 1, as that would just make the most sense for that kind of celebration. Christmas makes the most sense to me, as MSF would probably want to make that holiday one more their own and less one tied to any one religion, especially Christianity. I wonder if the main mission's actual date wasn't closer to early January 1975, since we know after the ZEKE incident, Paz was captured, then Chico snuck over to Camp Omega in the days following, and a total of 10 days after confirming Paz was captured had passed before the mission was a go. I think it's very telling that all these captives can quote Big Boss from Peace Walker so accurately. Skull Face himself says these lines to Chico in one of the tapes of his interrogations. I am prrrrrretty sure that Skull Face is the OG Big Boss. The "Big Boss" of GZ is probably the Medic from the original events, and if there's a "simulation" layer on top of that, that simulation is probably being played by Venom in the future. It's very likely "Skull Face" had been running XOF and other organizations behind the scenes in a secret war against Zero. He and Miller probably captured Paz after the ZEKE incident and brought her to Camp Omega to interrogate her, and then leaked the intel to MSF while Kaz also played the Medic to rescue Paz, as MSF probably wasn't aware of XOF. Big Boss probably had MSF attacked himself, and this was probably not something Kaz knew was going to happen, so Medic shows up and rescues him while Big Boss takes off with Huey to begin Sahelanthropus. Big Boss was probably conducting his own experiments beyond Cipher's purview at Camp Omega, and this probably brought the two elements in conflict, with Zero using MSF and Kaz & Medic to stand against the now rebel Big Boss who was probably running XOF behind the scenes since the 60's.

The biggest question with the Side Ops canonicity status... A lot of the people that you can extract you can then transfer over to Phantom Pain, meaning they really were there and Big Boss captured them from the camp. But that implies that they bombed the site to wipe it clean, then rebuilt it right back to lure Big Boss again to try and save Chico and Paz... And neither Snake or Kaz say anything about it. But then again, the "heroes" in the Metal Gear franchise have always been pretty good at ignoring obvious red flags.

There is evidence to suggest that the entirety of the events in Ground Zeroes takes place in the mind of Venom while under the effects of induced hypnagogia. At the end of the final side op there is a secret where the colors on screen become vibrant and the AI voice of the iDroid begins to list of the names of train stations in Japan, the same list of train stations that the infected GW AI Campbell reads off at the end of Metal Gear Solid 2. In MGS2 Raiden mentions to Solid Snake that he ran through the tanker mission in VR and Snake replies that what he played was probably nothing like the real events. Throughout MGSV during important events in cutscenes there is a lens flare that appears as a series of bars across the screen. these bars resemble the coding pattern written on MSX tapes, the system that Kojima originally created Metal Gear on and also making an appearnce in the final scene of MGSV, suggesting that a system like the MSX was used to induct venom into the precursor of the S3 program from MGS2. MGSV plays out like an inverted version of MGS2. After all, 2+2=5.

SPOILERS FOR PHANTOM PAIN AND PEACE WALKER I hear that Ground Zeroes is the interpretation of Venom Snake of what they tell him was the Ground Zeroes incident when they were hypnotizing him, the reason I think it sounds credible is that at one point Kaz told "Big Boss" that they (Kaz and Big Boss) trust Paz from the star, but in PW, Kaz said that he knew about Paz from the start, and in another chat between them, they talk about "silencing" Paz, but from what we know about the Big Boss, he cared about Paz even after the betrayal.

They had much, much different goals. GZ is a primer for the War Without End of TPP. They share some similar themes, but the overall message of TPP must be told over what feels like a long and gruelling, unending global conflict whereas GZ is an inigmatic prison which exists as more of a single point rather than an unending line. Both ask a lot of the player in terms of time investment and attention to detail in a way that I think is underappreciated by those with short attention spans. Secondary/ancillary isn't really a good description of the content in a game where the majority of storytelling and revelation lie deep below the surface level. But yeah if you want a concise, cut and dry point to point experience, MGS: V is not that.

I'm having a hard time believing that GZ is real at all. 0) Venom (the player), is lied to at all times, manipulated and hypnotized by his masters (Cipher & co). On top of that, Venom clearly is not a reliable narrator, between his memory issues and his hallucinations. 0.1) "Cipher will rewrite the records", said Skullface. He knows that Cipher does it, possibly because they've already done it with what happened in Cuba, meaning that what we are playing in GZ may be the rewritten version of what actually happened. Cipher rewrote everything that happened here. 0.2) Cipher is in charge of Venom's hypnagogia. "I made another Snake", said Zero, meaning he's the one who directed Venom's implanted memories. What we see in GZ, if it is indeed seen from Venom's memories, is potentially what Cipher rewrote as History, as facts. 0.3) "There are no facts, only interpretations." 1) BB asks Kaz if he should eliminate Paz & Chico before they speak. Not very MSF-friendly to murder non-combatants, let alone children. 2) "Give her the shot already!" pronounced by Kaz['s voice actors], while Skullface tortures Paz - Kaz is both at MB and with Skullface? How? When? 3) "Eliminate the renegade threat" - Renegade, noun: "a person who deserts and betrays an organization, country, or set of principles" 3.1)Renegade 1: Eye, the spotter + Wearing the same sunglasses as Kaz, he designates targets for his colleague, like Kaz. + Missing an eye, while Kaz loses both eyes (seemingly replaced by parasites) = Clearly a mirror version of Kaz 3.2) Renegade 2: Finger, the shooter + Vaguely resembles BB, he pulls the trigger (figuratively and literally) on his sunglasses-wearing colleague's command, like BB. + Missing a part of his hand, while Venom (the other half of Big Boss) is missing his hand. = Clearly a mirror version of BB (both Naked and Venom) 3.3) BB & Kaz are the true renegades in the eye of Cipher. They work within its system, yet also plot against it. Their ability to work together, in the shadows (Kaz) and in action (BB) (like the duo above) make them the real threat. 4) Hideo, the MSF intel agent, is wearing his MSF uniform, not a Marine's BDU. Why? Why such an oversight? Kojipro went as far as giving Hideo a unique model and are known to have a great attention to detail, but somehow missed this uniform? If it's intentional: why? How do you walk around in this base with an enemy uniform? Sure, it looks cool, but what is the logic behind this outfit? It works in video-game logic, in a *simulation*, but not in reality.

I found it very strange when you can edit your avatar into different race but end up change into a white mid-age man. If the avatar is the extension of the player, meaning that avatar is player's face, player's memories, not the Medic. Venom Snake is a product of medic's body and big boss' soul and the gz is a vr mission for the player adopt the big boss' soul and mind, his past and experience. The Truth mission is only YOUR interpretation, it only became Venom's because you as a player, playing the role of Venom Snake. I found out that the medic face and bandage man face is surprisingly same, but never the avatar's face. I believe that in the prologue and the truth mission, the bandage man is representing the consciousness of medic, not big boss, Ismael may never exist, as we all know Venom is not a relable narrator. The reason of Ismael being masked is Venom unconsciously forgot who he really was, he cannot remember his face, and the truth is no more than a bigger lie to cover up his real past, but one thing for sure, we, Venom Snake, decided to give up the true past and take the mantle and big boss face and live with it.

Futurasound productions would you be interested in creating a video called, “why you should play MGS” it’s a concept for a video I’ve yet to seen be made on KZbin with a serious production behind it and I think you would be perfect for the job, something spoiler-ish free with might help make the series more approachable for people looking into MGS, just a insightful video into what is MGS and why you should play it pretty much

to me, the voices of Eye and Finger sound the almost exact same as the voices of snake and kaz but digitally altered. its probably generic npc voices digitally altered to sound *like* them though. cant really tell

Uhm great vvideo as ah always. Ggreat hm insight abbout the possibility of the English aah strain already in hmm camp omega. And another example of ahh weirdly placed assets like those boxes where venom plugs in the idroid, hum are the trash cans and portable toilets, that are only I'm GZ just to be used for climbing them. One other thing about foreshadowing a future, if you take a look up in the fences of the old prison area, you.can see little sparks thunder like animations, like saying those fences should.be electrified. Thanks for the content and the motivation fuel

Why Glaz and Palez are in russian language (an eye and a finger)? Isn't it strange that American Marines have russian nicknames?
