I was married at 17, everyone thinking this will never last, then 1yr and 3 months later had my first baby (girl). My hubby and I grew up together and learnt life together. I can honestly say, we’ve had ups, downs, rollercoasters 😊here we are 45yrs later more in love than ever before. Talk to each other about everything, don’t hide anything. After being married quite a while we came to know Jesus Christ as our Saviour, my only regret is not doing it sooner as that has been the best decision ever! God bless you from Northern Ireland 😘

I'm learning Spanish and this is exactly correct. In Spanish, when there is both a masculine and feminine form of a word and there is a mixed group of males and females, then the word defaults to the masculine form. It's not hard, I don't know why people would give her grief for that.

YESSSSSSSS to the married young thing!!! I got married at age 19. I knew my husband three months when we got married. We have been married 18 years and have two teenage children (ages 17 and 14). Marriage works when both people are committed to each other and making their marriage work. Marriage works when people are committed to working through issues rather than running away when things get rough. My husband and I don’t always agree, but we have learned to work together and compromise. I am so happy that I married young and have spent my young years with the man I love. Growing up with and growing old with my husband is the greatest thing ever!

When my husband and I were engaged as 21 year olds sooo many people tried to scare me by telling us how hard and miserable it was going to be. I finally stood up for myself and told lots of people to hush and mind their own. Almost 4 years now, and yes, it's been hard, but we love each other and love being married.

I like the idea of making the home a safe place for each other. Not one person taking on a specific or dated role but actually looking at the home in a manner of comfort not only in your eyes but in the eyes of your spouse and trying to physically make that better for each other. Thats really nice.

I love what you said about the power of the word "no". As a parent it's become my favorite word to use when people want to dissuade me on certain things because they think it's too harsh for kids when it's not. Like not letting my kids watch tv or movies or dress up as fictional characters for Halloween because it requires no imagination and encourages unhealthy emotional attachments.
@laurenrobson46
@laurenrobson46 4 жыл бұрын
I think for a lot of kids, costumes on Halloween do encourage imagination. I have very fond memories of dressing up and "playing" the person I was dressed up as. It's fun to be a different person for a day. I knew I wasn't really a witch. I knew I wasn't a real cheerleader (although I did end up being a cheerleader for a year or two later on). As an adult, I haven't really found much excitement in dressing up on Halloween and haven't in a long time, but I found it really exciting and imaginative as a kid.

I mean....getting married young isn't always wise. Don't get me wrong, if you've found the right one and you have your finances in order and you are getting married for the right reasons...go ahead! But, I think marriage can be romanticized, and young, impressionable kids or young adults can have the wrong idea about marriage and rush into something they aren't ready for. It could go for anyone, really - young or old. I know a couple that is very near and dear to my heart who got married at 19 and have ended up divorced...it doesn't always work...and sometimes if you have someone who really cares about you in your life come alongside you and express some concern about jumping into marriage, I think it would be wise to at least listen and consider what they are saying. I am currently 22 and engaged and have been in relationships before where I did want to marry that person and I am SO GLAD I had my mom tell me about some red flags that she saw that I was too blind to see....or else I'd be in a pretty crappy situation. Yes, people back in the day used to get married young. However, there was a lot of pressure to get married and have children ASAP by society and sometimes even certain religions. My grandma was one of those people who got married right out of high school, had 3 kids and her husband left the whole family because he just didn't want that life anymore. It was awful and sad and my grandma was looked down on in her church (this was back in the 1970s) and even some of her own family. My point is that YOU know YOUR situation....and I don't know if justifying your actions because some lady on the internet told you it was okay to get married young is really the wisest thing to do. Pray about it, talk to your close family and friends about it who have your best interest at heart....and if you still feel it is the right path to take...then go forward and be happy :)

Olivia Hop well said, if you know who you are, like really really know yourself, are in a good place mentally and really know the other person, then ok, it might work. But most people don’t know themselves and aren’t sure of them selves and then it can be really tough.

Yes!!! Absolutely! I 1000% agree. Knowing yourself is key and understanding your strengths and weaknesses is part of growing. I know this may be controversial for some, but I think dating a few people can help you learn more about yourself and how you act in relationships. I know I’ve learned amazing lessons from each boyfriend I’ve had in the past that has helped me mature and become the woman I am now :)

I think you are so right! I got married at 18 and have one child so far with my husband, and our marriage is great and I'm so happy we got married when we did, we'll have been together 6 years this summer. But I also know 3 or 4 couples who got married at 19/20 years old and divorced within the year. It really depends on who you are as individuals, maturity, goals, etc. Marriage is NOT a light decision to make!

Mariella Cajina I was talking about my grandma...it was just an example. She was married in the 50s and she only dated my grandpa (they were together from 6th grade) and because they got married so young and really didn’t know themselves the best before they got married....they got divorced in the 70s haha probably should have clarified.

Oh my gosh Sarah did this come at the right time!! 😱 I'm 18 en route to getting married August 2021 and I had one of my elders telling me that I shouldn't be worrying about getting married so young, I should be pursuing my passion for dancing. It hurt because God has orchestrated this relationship and my biggest dream is to be a wife and mother and this woman calls herself a Christian. Her doubting that my decision was based on God's will led me to briefly doubt it too and I've struggled a little with wondering if I'm old enough and mature enough to get hitched and have kids and have it work out. That's one of the biggest reasons you are the only KZbinr that I actually use as a role model because you're not interested in the world's ways and rules. You aren't afraid to break chains in order to serve God. You have such a powerful voice amongst all this darkness and I praise God that He lead me to your channel. Thank you Sarah for everything you do 😘😘😘

I got married a week after my 18th birthday and it was the greatest decision I’ve ever made, I told my husband I didn’t want to be engaged, I never really liked the idea of “we’re GOING TO get married”, so many couples are engaged for months, even years before they get married. We just went to the city hall and signed our paperwork. We didn’t have a ‘wedding’ as such but we threw a newlywed party. I loved everything about how we did it and I never thought I was too young. I’m not too young to be in love and I’m definitely not too young to be a wife. 🙏

I COMPLETELY agree about what you said about growing yourself comes from challenging yourself (your “is your content intimidating to others” question) To be honest when I first found your channel about two years ago your content was a bit intimidating because it was so new and eye opening, but honestly now i feel so genuinely blessed and inspired by your content because it’s been exactly that, challenging daily norms and daily routines that I’ve never thought about (like workouts and ethical shopping and discipline vs motivation)! Your channel kickstarted the progress for getting me out of my comfort zone, which is honestly the only way we can ever see progress/growth! Sending so much love for you, your family, and your epic content💛💛💛

"Our shared belief in Christ and the Bible has helped tremendously" Yes yes yes!! I am 18, got engaged after knowing him for 2 months and dating for one month, and we'll be getting married when I'm 19. We both know that God has called us to be together and if we center our marriage on Him and His Word I have full faith that everything will work out. I know that it'll be hard sometimes, but my pastor always says that delayed obedience is disobedience, and if God is telling us to move, you better believe we're moving. We're not going to wait until we're "old enough and financially stable, yada yada yada" because God is telling us to do this NOW! God knows what's best for each and every one of us and He will never tell us to do something that will put us in harm's way. We just need to believe and obey.

Sweet Sarah, you have inspired me in my life and challenge me to be a better me. I'm a faith-filled Christian woman who is engaged to be married. You've taught me SO much and have been such a beautiful example of being a mom, a loving wife, and a woman who doesn't live by motivation, but discipline. I used to watch you for your makeup videos, but love your channel even more with all the changes you've made. I've loved watching you grow and develop in your marriage and as a woman of God. Your God-centered confidence has helped me as a 22-year-old young woman to find my identity in Christ and remember that it's not about what people think. It's about what God thinks and what brings me closer to him while also learning who I am as a person. Thank you so much!! I love your entire family and pray for blessings on you. ❤️

Your comment really hit me when you talked about keeping your spouse happy to come home. My boyfriend always told me how he dreaded coming home to his ex wife, and it baffled me. He's always expressed how relieved and excited he is when he gets to come home from wherever he is. He says it's such a turn around from what he was used to for almost a decade. It makes me really happy that I can be his peace and excitement. I feel the exact same way coming home to him. Very important and maybe not thought about by most people!

Your videos have truly showed me that you can love someone who is different, different doesn’t mean bad and you have really opened my eyes to that. I am a christian as you are although I have some different beliefs here and there, I really appreciate your look on things, that just because it’s not the same doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Different is good. Also “Just say no” I really needed that today l. My boyfriend and I are 18 and planning to get married the beginning of next year. Most of his family isn’t supportive because we are “too young” and “need to be educated”. I don’t understand why if you love someone unconditionally you can’t just be with them, but they don’t understand that. So long story short this video really brightened my day and made me feel a heck of a lot better about my situation. Thank you Sarah!

Omg I am 13 right now and I remember when I was in 4th grade we did sparks as well. I remember wearing a vest and having this little wing pin with red green and blue jewels and I remember memorizing verses! I also recently Got a dog named Daisy!

Hi, been watching your videos for quite awhile and finally decided to comment to late you know you help me sometimes. I'm not religious but I enjoy watching your videos. They help motivate me sometimes to clean my house and get my crap together. Still working on the eating bad and procrastinating but most of the time when I click on your organization videos or you showing your minimalist closet, it inspires me to minimize a little (sold half my wardrobe for really cheap to girls on my military base and bought all new but used decor items from the girls and felt like its thrifting while on lockdown haha) and clean my home. I don't have kids, only a husband and animals, but your videos are nice to watch because you're so vibrant and interesting, im jealous of your "discipline" cause I don't have it at all ❤❤❤❤

I was talking to a co-worker about proposing to my boyfriend and another co-worker was kinda shocked and asked me how old i am and the was shocked when i told him, i am 23 (now 24) . He is 20 and kinda couldn‘t believe it. He knows that my bf and i are together for some years, we live together, we have a dog. I just explained that i‘m 100% sure , we will be together „for ever“. My bf makes me happy, every day, I‘m just happy looking at him and realising that i am so lucky to have him on my side and so on. ❤️

Also, I speak Spanish(second language) and if you are referring to a group of both males and females you use the male ending. So "muchachos" can include both male and female audience members.

Sarah you are so down to earth!....I agree never too early or late for marriage, when you know you know. I got married at age 21, 5 years later still extremely happy. Hopefully next year a baby will come along!!

YES to people doubting you because you're young! I had my baby at eighteen, got married at nineteen, and even though we'd been together for four years at that point, extended family still told us we were too young and were rushing into it. Like no, we're getting married because it's what we've always been working towards in our relationship, and we want to give our child the stability of married parents (not that unmarried parents aren't stable; being married was just what was important to us!) Loved this video, as always! Felt like I got to sit in your living room and chat with you! ❤

I started watching your vlogs since January 2020 and since then I knew I needed you in my life lol. I love how you said “you’re not here to intimidate people but you’re here to challenge them.” So true! From habits like decluttering, using epilator instead of shaving/waxing, scrubbing my armpits to how you read the bible and devotions every morning... you’re a great influencer! Keep up the good work! God bless you and your family.❤️

About the whole 'marry young or not' bit, it is important to respect that yes, if a person wants to do that then that's their choice, but it is also important to simultaneously remind the person that domestic abuse is rampant both in 'first world' countries and third ones, and so it is vital to know one's self, character, and mature up sufficiently while ensuring that they can support themselves financially on their own, in order to have a better chance at keeping any possible abusive predator (who pretends to be kind at first for a while) away (and usually, doing that does take some years, and that is why people are encouraged to wait and hurry to get married). Literally, intimate partner murders (the perpetrator tends to be a male) are on the rise everywhere, including France and Australia (the usa was already dealing with a large amount of these tragic, horrifying cases for a long while).

I got married at 22 and had a ton of people said I was too young...I’m now 25 and pregnant with our first and I’m so thankful we didn’t listen to everyone around us. We are so happy. I was called to be a wife and mother and if I had listened to everyone and pursued a career instead I would have been miserable.
