Many years ago I was tracing my family tree and 4 generations ago my grandfather was Jewish. This really pushed me into learning about the religion at a distance. For the last 5 years I have felt a huge pull to the religion. Many of the Jews for Jesus do things like celebrating Christmas and Easter this is not one of the appointed time. Those holidays are so full of idolatry. I am still here

The questions I have for the black hebrew israelites is: 1) since when is skin color and religion related?? Especially years later many blacks and whites married eachother. 2) how can you claim to be Jewish and follow the Christian Bible 3) if you believe your jewish why not follow the torah- keep shabbos and kosher... 4) you don't even speak the language of the original torah - are you going to argue about something you never read? 5) how can you believe that the way of hate is the divine way? 6) why don't you do what you want - why all the hate? And why do you care if others believe they are jewish too??
@BenFlorida1731 Жыл бұрын
I'm still here! Enjoyed your video and as always impressed how you move forward without being distracted by any negative comments or "noise". It's obvious you're both extremely mature (spiritually mature) and fully committed to learning and absorbing Torah from a proper Orthodox Jewish authority/Rav. No strange, false, misguided, or man-made theology. Your answers and comments show that you have been taught very well and have a good grasp of what it means to be a Torah observant Jew and what it entails to have an observant Jewish home. Yasher Koach to both of you and may Hashem continue to guide and bless your entire family! You are a welcome addition to Am Yisrael.

Hey L & D. It took me a minute but I got through to the end. ❤ Very beautiful. One comment that I have is just to know that even once your conversion is complete (hopefully soon!), it’s okay to make mistakes, we all do, every day! Wrong brachos, forgetting to bench, forgetting it’s Shabbos, treifing up things in the kitchen, it’s a constant process of failing, learning and improving for all of us, all the time. We’re so glad you’re joining the Jewish people and bringing a little more emes into the world!

Another awesome video, can’t wait for the next! Rabbi Tovia Singer is one of my personal heroes, the past bunch of months. I’m orthodox from birth, but someone recommended Rabbi Singer’s content a while back, and I finally decided to watch a bunch of months ago. That started my binge watching of his channel lol and ultimately led me to the stories of people like you and other converts/aspiring converts. I find it so heartening to see people finding their way back to Hashem, whether through accepting the Noahide laws or taking the full journey to Judaism. As I think I mentioned on a previous video, I’d love to see a crossover video with you and other converts, but I also think it would be awesome to see you talking with Noahides, and with Rabbi Singer. Also, any idea approximately when your (imy”H final) Beis Din meeting is? I find myself waiting with baited breath for you guys to officially join our people, even though it honestly feels like you’re already Jewish. Anyway, wishing you much hatzlacha in every endeavor, and keep enriching our lives!

U guys r great. Funny story about Brachot. I have been saying brachot from when I was a baby... But still do funny mistakes. We had very ripe bananas in our house, so I was going to put them in the freezer and use them later on to make banana muffins for my kids. As I was thinking that I thought I might just eat one now, so I took the banana and opened it and said the bracha out load "baruch ata..... Boray minay mezonot" I was so busy thinking of the muffins that I said the bracha for baked good and not Adama for things that grow in the ground/bush🤣🤣🤣🤣 keep up your good work on everything u do💜 mistaks happen to everyone all the time. Your channel is long overdue - Thanks for the effort. It would be helpful if JOC would do similar videos where people could get information about the differences in Reform Judaism, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Orthodox Judaism. Don’t try to do this yourselves! Invite a Rabbi from each Jewish movement or denomination to talk. I am a JOC, Reform. I have JOC friends who are Modern Orthodox; they can drive to Shul. I don’t know the other differences in Orthodox and Modern Orthodox. Perhaps you or someone knowledgeable, can address the similarities and differences between the two Jewish movements, Orthodox and Modern Orthodox on a video. Actually, I can imagine Black people becoming interested in Modern Orthodox because we have a Shul in Atlanta that has several JOC members and they are Modern Orthodox. Keep up the good work!

My father had discussed a beautiful idea that he read from a sefer on sukkos. I don't know who says this, but the neshamos of converts are from the ones among the nations who answered, "Yes, we want the Torah!" when G-d went around to all the nations asking who wants the Torah. Unfortunately, the "majority" won and the Torah wasn't given to you guys, but your neshamos still accepted Torah back then, and are now finding Torah to accept it fully!

Getting to choose your religion in this country is a beautiful thing yet so many Christians are offended by that very Idea but we're lucky here because many are persecuted (real persecution not internet disagreements) in other places for not following the status quo Let's try to remember to Love our neighbors regardless if they look like you or pray like you. Thank you two for positivity, I'm Christian but 1 set of grandparents are Catholic and my step brothers and sister are Pentecostal and I've had the blessing to experience all those ways of worshiping I'm Native and I love to hear my people sing and dance for the lord even though many colonizers and their descendants believe we're are banging the drums and screeching to the devil But I know our voices go to The Lord. We love the Earth as our Mother and The Lord as our Father and I know how we pray can be misunderstood so Thank you two again for always keeping it positive Maybe I've overstayed my welcome since I'm not converting but I really did follow to understand and Love others. Much Much Love and here's to hoping we all get to celebrate that beautiful reunion in the sky!

I thought you handled the conversion one well. Over the past two years, I've had people question my decision to formally convert into the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church with one person insisting that the conversion process was not needed to be considered an Orthodox Christian in full unity with the Orthodox Church. His reasoning was that the only thing that mattered was being an Orthodox Christian within your soul. The Orthodox Church doesn't agree with that. I didn't handle the situation all too gracefully. But you are right, these kinds of people should be ignored. I also cherished my conversion process into the Orthodox Church. I felt like I could freely learn about the Church, traditions and customs while making mistakes without the guilt and building a community and support system around me. It set me up for success. I hope you cherish your conversion process as well.

I am SO IMPRESSED with how calm and sure you two are. You are obviously phenomenally well-informed, and going into this with hearts and eyes wide-open. No arguing, no debating, you understand what it means to accept the yoke of Torah and welcome it. Could you elaborate more on it and in the meanwhile can you point me to a good place to start learning of it and the Oral Torah ,I am really not strong on it. Channels like yours ,Rabbi Tovia Singer(excellent debater) and others are helping me to come into an appreciation for Judaism ,especially Orthodoxy, that my Faith in Hashem is not just a mere idea/belief but a genetic lineage ,heritage and an irreversible identity, that is a major distinguishing factor from a religion. You are a bridging gaps for those who honestly want to learn about the Faith and the process of conversion. Thank you for taking the time to be a blessing. Shalom

@@houseoflev I am so glad you answered this, I was wondering all sorts of things, even up to yesterday. I really appreciate you responding, I have a lot of questions. Look out for an email from me sometime this week, G-d willing, I have a very interesting story to share with you, on how your content was used in an encounter with some folks. What you are doing is not in vain, you are touching so many people so far from you and leaving good and uplifting marks on their lives. Shalom aleichem.😃😃Thank you for the information, I will definitely look at it.

As a Baalas Teshuva, before I fully took on being orthodox I also practiced. I bought only kosher food before I bought new dishes or kashered my pots and pans. Any Jew or even non-Jew looking to be Torah Observant, I advise going slowly before taking on mitzvos. .

The late Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks of Blessed Memory made great and frequent use of the word 'light'. You'll read and hear its use throughout his books, editorials and KZbin pieces. Its use is always positive, illuminating this and that in the great scheme of things. I think a divine light has been cast upon the both of you, and you in turn reflect that illuminating light upon us, B"H.

Thanks for your open and positive videos! Nice and honest content and informative for those who still seek their way and who are not in proximity of a community or an observant family. Would be interested hearing what kind of books or writers you would recommend to viewers when they would like to read more about jewish thought and spirutuality.

Thank you Berg for watching. Books… wow! There are so many. My go to is Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. Any Breslov book would be great. Breslov.org is a great place to start

I'm still here, that holds true for the vast majority of videos. You two are great. I saw LaDerryl wearing tzitzit in a previous video, I think it's fantastic! I'm guessing you're converting with a Chassidic rabbi given the black hat?
@houseoflev Жыл бұрын
Thx brother. Our Rabbi isn’t Chassidic actually. Chassidus was something we were drawn to. Breslov Chassidus specifically 🙏🏾
