I have a 2000 Celica GT and I absolutely love it. It's my first car and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I bought it for $10k at 83k miles back in 2005 and I still have it today. It's now at 213k miles. Still going strong! Most of the modding I've done is all exterior: custom headlights, spoiler, taillights, rims, and a vinyl body wrap. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's an automatic, but it's still a good car. No regrets. :D

I've been looking for a Celica GT for months. My budget was 3k for a decent one and when I finally found the perfect GT, on my way to looking at it I saw a bright yellow GT-S on the street for sale and ended up getting it for 4k. Point is that you shouldn't rush into anything and you might find something later on down the road that cannot be passed. I drove both the GT and GT-S celicas and it's not so much the power that makes the difference (except when you hit lift) but it's how it all comes together. That being said keep pumping out videos and love your content!! 🏁

That's my thinking as well! Thanks man! Honestly a yellow GTS is my ideal Celica, maybe I'll luck out like you some day!

Do a 2zz swap
@michaelboulos87347 жыл бұрын
Auralapse it's too expensive and not worth the time because the GT doesn't "gain" any value and it's not an easy swap

Dude , you found a very cheap GTS , in Europe you find a decent GTS at 6k $. I honestly envy you

Great to see you post again after so long. Seems like you've been pretty busy. I'd say upgrading to a 2ZZ would be worth it for the right price, since I get a lot of enjoyment out of mine, although moving to another car entirely could be potentially better in the long run. RWD and AWD formats are very tempting options the gen 7 doesn't have. For myself, I'm about to put coilovers on my Celica. After that there's some cosmetic things I want to do, like wheels, a Sports M bonnet scoop and TRD wing, then fixing the bodywork and paint. Eventually though, I would like to get something else myself. Lately I've been thinking one of the older GT4s might be a good pick if I want to stay in a Celica.

I'd love to put some good money into some nice mods like those for my car, we'll see what happens!

Honestly I feel you... My GT is in rough shape with stone chips all over the front and the front bumper is faded so bad. But I think you should just put your money into making your GT what you want. Give that car a second life. I feel like you'll be glad you did.
@UpshiftUnlimited7 жыл бұрын
J. Markov exaaaaactly, that's the plan! My bumper is the same way though

Were you planning on getting any body kits? I really want the Kaminari from kaminari.com, but like is that even a legit website? lol. It would suck to spend 7-8 hundred on something that's not legit. I mean, the site seems okay but I have trust issues when pumping out that much cash online!

Someone in my neighborhood has a yellow Celica. Every time I see it, I cry. I can barely find any in Vegas.
@MunddoGT7 жыл бұрын
I use to want to get a gts also. But at the end of the day it still just a celica. In order to make them quick, the only option basically is forced induction. Simple bolt ons really don't do much. I plan on keeping my celica till the wheels fall off lol. But I do also plan on saving up for a rwd/faster car.

same here. I have a blue manual 02 GT 163k with the TRD body kit and exhaust and at the beginning I was thinking to get a GTS or acura rsx type s but it's not worth it. I'm saving a bit more money to get an frs or brz

Did you check why the check engine light was on for?
@UpshiftUnlimited7 жыл бұрын
2zzlow not sure, but the car may have just been in accessory mode while it wasn't actually running, which would cause the light to be lit
@2zzlow7 жыл бұрын
at 2:15 the car is in 1400rpm which means its on. Gotta make sure those Lift bolts are not damaged or slight knock. Early GT-S had bad oil pumps in them.
@evan9377 жыл бұрын
+Upshift Unlimited Don't pass up that GTS. 4k is a good deal. The 2ZZ is such an incredibly well engineerd motor. Yamaha helped a lot. In Japan and Europe the output is near 190 hp.. So they produce over 100 horses per litre!

All celica community is in shock bro mitchdore got put on blast exposed for not being truthful check out the 2zzlow comments all facts. I know you have not posted in a while but you always kept it real and affordable mods.

well living in Florida I see. Toyota Celicas everywhere and most of them are in shity conditions. but i would say a gts is good but not much faster . what other cars do you like? i would love to get my hands on a Subaru WRX they come stock with 260 hp
@weliftnation24187 жыл бұрын
trever pitts thats because you had a Automatic GTS which gears ratios are garbage. The six speed transmission works wonders for the Celica GTS. Even the Celica GT is faster than the Celica GTS Automatic. The fastest Celica is the six speed Celica GTS. Trust me I have own two GTS and once you go six speed you will understand what the Celica VVTLI is all about. All Celica GTS six speed are different when you hit Lift. 2000 and 2001 hit lift at 6000rpm. 2002 hits lift at 6,800 to 7,500 rpm. The 2003, and 2004 hit lift at 6,200 rpm but are (DRW) drive by wire eletric throttle body. 2005 hit lift around the same as the 2002. 2006 models are rare in United states as so is the 1999 seveth gen. The 2006 model hit Lift around 6,200.
@LilPistacho7 жыл бұрын
Manual gt is fun and better then automatic gt. I personally would say get the gts, that lift will definitely make it worth it. But get a gts you like. If that blue gts wasn't it then don't get it. I personally am not going to be doing a lot of engine mods when I get the gt-s just masic but noticeable changes like cai, rims, exhaust, and coilovers. I got a gt right now it does have some decent mods and looks nice. But the lift with the gts just makes the driving more fun haha. Make sure not to get a auto gts tho.. even if its perfect and cheap.. better off with your manual gt. :D

If your GT is clean inside out, why don't you make a GT-S with TRD body kit + rear disk and swap 2zz, for around 4000 $ ?

man i'm glad you didn't buy that gt-s as it looks preety bad....it's better to invest money into your gt because you know what you have. You can do a 2zz swap aswell, there are a lot of nice 2zz engines in the US for around 2k $. I would really be interested in seeing that because i'm planning to do that aswell

I had a Toyota Celica GTS and they're very very similar to the Toyota Celica GT the only difference is you go from 140 horsepower to 180 horsepower that's it and you get leather interior
@weliftnation24187 жыл бұрын
trever pitts so not true I own a GT and two GTS. The Six speed is the difference.
