Proceeded by multiple views, raving, and much dancing. Despite it being very late and having major jet lag! Will always be grateful to the Letterman show and to 4AD for this. I flew up to NC last month to see their 1000th show. Front row. Met Sam. Instant hardcore fan like never before for any musician. Very, very happy.

I used to live in Paris, then moved to Switzerland but never heard about this band. Last year, I moved to Portugal with my Portuguese partner and one day, on TV, there was an add about concerts given by Future Islands. I was curious and I searched for their songs on KZbin... and here I am ! Since that, I keep listening to their amazing music ! Future Islands make me travel in the past rather than in the future, I'm 56 and am nostalgic when listening to such good tunes.

Sam Herring of Future Islands is actually a rapper himself. Goes by Hemlock Ernst. Hemlock doesn't have any solo stuff out right now, but he's collaborated with Open Mike Eagle, Busdriver, Serengeti, and milo, all of who are amazing rappers. Oddisee's another favorite of mine. You should check them out!
