My favorite fuzz circuit by far. I've always wanted one Superfuzz wah, but with a Tycobrahe wah.
@FuzzlordEffects3 жыл бұрын
that would be so cool!

Hi Jason, the superfuzz is famous also from Jesus & Mary Chain. They used it in their legendary shoegaze Psychocandy album. The FU-2 sounds even better in my opinion, so much tone! Is there a way to get a distribution in Europe for your pedals? It'd amazing.

Pete Townshend used a Univox Super-Fuzz back in the 60's. That was my first pedal build on perf board back in the 90's.

that is badass you made one Leif!

Awesome demo! This was my first guitar pedal; I got it for free with an amp and guitar purchase in the early ‘90s. I used it for years on guitar and bass and most of my band mates hated it. It wasn’t “modern” sounding for the metal or heavy blues rock of the time. I’ll always take a Superfuzz circuit fuzz over anything else.

A famous use of (an apparently defective) Shin-Ei Fuzz Wah was by The Jesus and Mary Chain on their first album PsychoCandy. Awesome album, and the sound of my youth.

9:20 depends on the circuit. FZ and FU-2 both sound better before the wah, but big muffs sound better after.

Mark Arm of Mudhoney definitely used a Univox Super-Fuzz (Mudhoney Big Muff/Super Fuzz Era. Also, I believe Munehiro Narita of High Rise used the Shin-Ei Fuzz Wah. He for sure used a Fuzz Wah of some type. Just ordered a (Dead) fx I Can't Feel My Face Super-Fuzz. Also, just ordered a Void Master from the Fuzz Lord website. I'm thinking they will play nicely together and I am eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Great video Jason!!! I liked the sound of the fuzz wah, but if I’m being honest, your pedal sounded better to me. I had a wah pedal years ago, but I just didn’t get real into using it. They do sound cool in the right place though. Keep up the great work man!!!🤘🤘🤘

God that's nasty. I love the mid range that your FU-2 has compared to the old fuzz wah. It has a lot more definition and a crushing low end. Still, gotta love that nasty spitiness of the old bastard. Can you believe they had such a sound in the 70s??

A terrific reminder of one of the great Ancient Ones. I prefer the FU-2's fuzz tone, however. Using my ears (no proof), I think the band DÖ uses something like a Super Fuzz device for much of their tone. Watching from Killeen TX, a little North of Austin.

I could tell the wah was before fuzz in the circuit and I wonder if it sounds bad the other way which is what i prefer. Germanium or silicon?
@taylormoon35613 жыл бұрын
Super cool pedal, but I’m not sure I’m into the wah. I’d rather just use a separate wah and have the fuzz in a smaller enclosure. It sounds kinda like the boss hyper fuzz, and the schematics don’t seem dissimilar, is there a relation?

@FuzzlordEffects3 жыл бұрын

@nessearthbound31073 жыл бұрын
This pedal is super cool! One question: can you get the 'in-between' sound when you put the fuzz mode switch in the middle, like the Behringer Super Fuzz?
@FuzzlordEffects3 жыл бұрын
great question! I assume so but did not try it
@MrGREYMATTERS3 жыл бұрын
In comparison, they match in HEAVINESS but have their individual voice. I would say the Super Fuzz has more forward presence, brighter character.

My neighbor has one of these. I was always curious because I see them go for 500-1000+ any day of the week...figured there must be some kind of magic to them. Tried it out and honestly, to me, it just sounded like a cheap fuzz with a dooky sounding wah.. i'm happy with my xotic wah and various fuzz selections.
