It be awesome to find a security camera system you could have on your boat without the need of wifi to check it with your phone Like if it's bad weather you can pop up the camera footage on your phone , or if your in a sketch spot, you can keep an eye on it

Luke, your hand righting is the exact same as mine. Half capitols, no spelling abilities, and no cursive although some people think I'm righting in cursive if it gets bad. I have never seen any one who wrights like me, I'm just amazed.

@@lukevandermark71you’re 100% right. They usually reply and care, or at least act like it til they hit around 30,000 subscribers. Then they start getting the KZbin monies rolling in and forget what got them to that point. Some creators tho still interact in the comments tho and that goes a long way. Andrew Camarata for example has like 1.4 million and still replies to lots of comments. That’s appreciated

If @Garmin was smart they would sponsor Luke & provide him all their latest & greatest electronics. They couldn’t pay for a better commercial than a couple of hours of Luke’s videos showing the reasoning for specific pieces of their tech & the installation of the equipment & eventually their products in use. People love to root for the underdog, for the man who pulls himself up by his own bootstraps, for the guy who demonstrates what being an American is all about. A guy just like Luke, humble, hardworking and grateful for the opportunity to live his own American dream. This is some of the best content on KZbin. Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Can’t wait to see more.

As many have said, "I take my hat off," the energy, effort, and above all, BALLS that you put into making your business and your family's livelihood continue to grow are to be admired, and channels like yours are the ones that in my opinion are worth supporting, since among other things they serve as inspiration for many people. I know that at this point in the process it is difficult to see the end, but if we look at the "positive" side within all the misfortune that has happened to you, once you finish the project you will have the boat you need made almost completely to your liking, and knowing exactly how it is built, so that any future repairs will be much easier.

Hey Luke, take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come and be proud of yourself! Your dedication and hard work are truly admirable. Keep pushing forward, even when the road gets tough. Remember, every step you’re taking now is building toward something incredible. One day, you’ll look back with pride and have amazing stories to share with your family, stories of resilience, determination, and success. Stay focused and trust the process your efforts will pay off in ways you can’t even imagine yet! 🦀

Great vid, I`m in the clean & rebuild stage of a 23ft pleasure cruiser, The best tool for cutting fiberglass is a brushless multitool, niceclean cuts without the dustcloud & mess caused by grinders!!!! I use a Milwakee m18FMT, honestly Brilliant though the cheaper brushed motor variety was rubbish, choked up, fried & died in short order, I also learned to blow out the tool motors with compressed air As resin dust blocks them up & causes overheat & death, hence I now have a new brushless grinder! (no more stuck motor brushes) Also, I wish I had put conduit in my boat for the electrics before glassing as having to re glass is so annoying. Good Luck with the build!

I worked a boat for a few years that had a pair of Cat 3208 engines. Worked well for a good while. Blew starboard engine towing a shrimper in. Boat spent a few months in the marina getting overhauled. When Coast guard cleared the boat with a full inspection, boat had new inline 6 engines pushing 650 HP each. New shafts, seals, bearings and props.

Luke. You’d be smart to instal a set of isolator mounts on whatever engine and gear you put back in it. It’s amazing how it can change the way your back and knees feel at the end of the day. Some guys where I’m at (vinalhaven Maine) even go as far as to instal a wood floor where they stand by the steering and where the crew stands at the washboard. Again it is amazing how something little like some strips of cedar epoxied to the deck can change the way your body will feel at the end of the day. With as much time as you spend each year on the deck of that boat you want to make it as comfortable as possible. Also makes it way way easier to align the prop shaft to the gear!!!

Hey Luke love your videos! I'm a part time stone crabber down here in Florida for my buddy who has a commercial license and tags. I just wanted to say keep doing what you're doing brotha. What happened to your boat is just disgusting regardless of the culprit's situation. But i urge you to look at it this way; you now have a golden opportunity to build/modify it for the way YOU will be using it even though it wasn't planned. Like for example my personal boat is a 79 ranger bass boat that has been hodgepodged and taped together with random wires and mounting holes everywhere. I just wish I had the time. money, and good reason to strip it to the runners and rip everything out to do it the right way. Like all new electronics and gauges that actually work.

I was just on a cruise in the Bahamas and saw a guy with your Desperado shirt on. It was so cool to see it and I mention you. I love soft shell crabs after having them this spring for the first time. This going to be a good build and your doing it right. I had a 28 boat way back and took the whole boat apart one summer and compleatly built it from inside out. I was great knowing that everything was new and reliable when I took it out the next summer. Good luck with your build. I am looking forward to more content of this build.

A quick review of the internet showed the cost of a rebuild like you are talking about is $15K-30K, with a actual cost is probably 20K-$25K is more realistic. That is a lot of money but it is one of the best investments you can make in your boat before break downs occur.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. So many possibilities. Great to see you taking the time for a full reset and sharing the progress. Definitely too late to make a difference, but just finished watching C&C equipment overhaul a 9 liter John Deere engine for a military dozer. Recently he mentioned that he takes $10 an hour off his hourly rate when he’s allowed to record his work to share on KZbin. Customers option. Watching the miserable job cleaning the bilge was pondering, a technology used for cleaning black mold in houses that’s supposed to be relatively easy and low impact might help in some of your situations. Basically they use sand blasting equipment modified to use dry ice pellets as the media. The energy from the impact not only provided a scrubbing action but the extreme cold kills any toxic biologically active substance and the pellets sublimate into gas and the only cleanup afterwards is a light dusting. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Wishing you and your family the best.

I had a nice fellow who worked for me and one afternoon while chatting I noticed he had 16penny nails in just about every cubby and container on his work truck. I asked "why don't you get organized and put all your nails in one container?" He answered "Having nails in every possible place, I'll never run out because if I can't find them in one place, I just have to look in another". Great logic to which I had no reply.

It's unlikely that will happen unfortunately like others have said. They typically don't actually investigate things like that unless they can have a bust that will take down a crime ring doing it. Just subscribed. This is going to be a fun build to watch. On the fuel tank issue, I know you said 85 gallons would be fine for you as a 'day boat'. However, I think you'd be better off with the two saddle tanks (100 gal each side). That way, you won't have to mess around getting fuel at the end of every fishing trip. You could probably go several days or all week with only one trip to the fuel dock, saving you time and money. Just my $0.02..........
