FX Impact and .357 Hunting

My FX Impact and other .357 airguns hunting ground squirrels. In this video, I am trying to decide which caliber I want to use mostly moving forward. You have to wait until the end to see which one I decide.

This was the best video yet!! Damn those .357’s just flat out flat line those bubonic plague carrying flea hotels!! You’re the first person I’ve seen dealing out death cards with those cannons. I travel following the produce north to south each year. The fields I check right now are in the 760, which I believe these are filmed in. Keep up the good work!!

I almost fell for an impulse buy. I have drooled over the FX impact .35 cal. since they introduced it but never sold it. I finally saw it is on stock, and was going to buy one tomorrow after a deposit. I am backing out of it. Although I absolutely love the guns concepts and what I think may be the best fluid dynamic engineering on the planet, I am tired of reliability problems with air guns, and I think FX has more than it's fair share. I am not a fan of their marketing techniques either. It is also not a very durable gun, so it getting banged up when hunting is a big possibility, (put it in the case, and go to a blind is the option). I came to this channel to see what options I have. My past experience with the air gun induatry says it is not a good idea to drop several grand here.

Very nice. You have gotten the clarity of your scope footage down. Great footage and shooting. I have been on the fence about getting a 357 tack driver. Torn between the RAW HM1000x and FX Impact M3 35. I have owned an M2 Impact before in 25. Impacts when they are running are like race cars, but like race cars mine was always blowing something or leaking. My RAW's on the other hand have been rock solid. Has the reliability of the impacts improved with the M3?

Quick questions about the FX that I can't seem to get an answer about. As a leftie shooter, will the magazine be in the way for a good cheek weld? When looking down from the top of the gun, does the magazine protrude equally to the left and right of the stock, or is it biased towards one side? Thanks!

Iam a lefty I have 3 impacts . I do run kl left hand cheek risers though. Prs makes them too the kl are hard to get but yeah u will be fine

@@HunterOne_Productions Yes the law over is a pain , i do have a licence so i can get high powered air rifles , as i have a priest 30 cal running at 55 ft lbs and a wolverine 303 Cal running at 100 ft lbs . Not everyone in the uk can get a licence at they are hard to get.

How are you getting those velocities with the impact in 357? My M3 seems to peak out at around 880 with 82 grains.

What is your regulator pressure set at?

I would try different hammer weights, start with 8 grams, (will help with valve bounce, improves accuracy) make sure to run a lighter valve adjuster spring, play with reg settings, start at like 135 bar and slowly go up, the M3 is an amazing platform...

@@HunterOne_Productions currently at 140. I’ve tried all the way to 160, but velocity stopped increasing at a little over 140. That’s with the hammer spring setting as tight as will let the gun cock.
