Hello fellow shooter, thank you very much for passing on this information. I have been confused lately with my regulator for regulating well with a pressure of 200 bar from the bottle to 145 bar in the Plenum. Every time I put 240 bar in the 350cc bottle, the regulator suffered a lot and fired few shots constantly until it ran dry at 190 bar from the bottle. My regulator has 13 very thin plate springs that are quite sensitive to high pressure in the bottle. I will add another regulator and make a larger Plenum to use 110 bar with 90cc of Plenum. I will use thicker plate springs in the first regulator to work with more resistance and the second regulator with the standard springs. I use .177 pellet 13 grain. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷.

Excellent Video Peter!!! I am following you from Perú!!!! Absolutely 1 or 2 regs depend on your objectives for hunting, hitting a Coin is more than enough, so 1 reg is ok even if you are shooting .177 or low power, low pressure setting, but if you pursue precision in a coin range you have 5 point of difference in a competition, so the 2 reg it's a must.

I have shot some really good groups without the 1st reg, but the consistancy has improved after the install for me. But anyway you know me - measuring and caring (perhaps too much 😛) about millimeters improvements in group size 😂 I hear you loud and clear. A coin size group will do, but since I am not allowed to hunt here in Denmark I only have the accuracy to focus on. It might have been a different focus if I had been hunting 🙂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts buddy 🤗 Have a great weekend 😎

Hi Peter, Thank you for your efforts in testing the first stage regulator. I would like to confirm my understanding that the primary advantage of utilizing the first stage regulator is to ensure stable pressure, as well as to facilitate the use of a 300 Bar cylinder, which allows for an increased volume of air and consequently, more shots.

Thank you for the video, great test. I agree, having 2 regs can only be a good thing with consistency. That’s a good test with adjusting the front valve to make first shot speed more consistent from the get go. I find my gun needs a few shots to settle. I have put thousands of pellets and later, slugs through my gun with very little maintenance. As it was very accurate I didn’t want to upset that by stripping it. I have now been experiencing some oddities with the first reg pressure, not sure if it’s an issue with the gauge or the regulator. I must get the courage to remove and strip both regulators to clean and replace orings to hopefully fix it. It still shoots very accurately despite the oddity which is why it hasn’t been stripped already! I will have to recap on some of your videos on the regulator maintenance to refresh my memory!

I have found with the M4 that it when I make changes to the tune it really takes alot more shots than you would think for it to actually settle in to the settings. For me its been like a full mag or a little more for it to settle in. And I still cant get rid of the low and slow problem, even using the tuning technique you use by using the valve to decrease that last little bit of velocity.

hi Peter, of what i understand from your beautiful informative video, you mean than if we shoot at mid low power like the 2nd stage regulateur pressure is at 110-130 bar its better to have a first stage regulator at 170-200 bar... If we shoot at high pressure like the 2nd stage reg is at 140 higher the first stage regulator is not necessary. Thanks in advance
@VikingAirgunner
@VikingAirgunner 28 күн бұрын
I havent shot with the reg at such high reg preasures, but the theory is that it makes better sense when you are using low reg preasure. I actually think that sub 12 models comes with the 1st stage reg as standard. Diffenence between 1st and 2nd shot be at least 35-40 bar. Just that it fills the plenum fast - or for me 5-6 sec is fine. This low difference makes the reg more precise if you have the right spring configuration 🤓

@@VikingAirgunner the valve is a pretty amazing tool. I guess I just thought that it would buffer every shot... not really thinking that it only slows down the stem if it's pushing all the way through the valve.
