Steve, great instructive video, BUT as far as I could make out all of your IHS adjustments are referenced from how it came delivered to you, which is indeterminate. Any chance of informing how many turns ccw from fully in to establish the base setting. Cheers.

This guy is the airgun doctor. School is in! Steve you made several good points. Tell you a funny story. Before I received my Maverick in the mail, I watched almost every maverick vid on KZbin. Most were running 175/155 regulators. I adjusted mine straight away to those numbers and it shot really poor. I brought mine down to 165/135 and it actually makes MORE power. 930fps with single digit ES. Less is more sometimes guys. Ps. What speed do you think is best for the .30 cal FX 44.8 gr pellet?

{Your ambient temperature in degree celsius + 273.15}x 51.813 = fps for best combination of accuracy and Power as they are inverse functions. For exampe, at 25 degree C calls for 894.6555 fps. The faster you go, the more power, but at a loss of accuracy as you approach towards the speed of sound into more turbulent air drag. In other words, stay below Mach 0.79,

Unnecessarily long video, but ypur efforts are appreciated. I'm running 180 on the front reg and 150 on the rear reg. Also installed the slug power kit at the same time. Now 1024 fps with 34gr slugs at 80ftlb.

Hi Steve, thanks for your amazing and very useful videos! I often wondered about the stiffness of the FX barrels, and if it affects the accuracy when I lean the gun at it's barrel. I see you leaning on the barrel in the video, bending it. Doesn't that affect the shape??

Looking at the Maverick as my next gun. Thanks for the knowedge this was very informative. I see you installed the compact 500mm barrel with the slugport down. I assume this was te same for the 700mm barrel tunes? Was the slug port down when it was delivered or was the pellet port down?

this is fascinating information however i wonder if it actually translates to other owners mavericks. I have tried to replicate other peoples settings with my hatsan flashpup and I don't get the same fps using same regulator pressure and hammer spring settings. Every gun seems unique which is annoying.

Hi Steve, I bought some Zan 70gr .25 slugs. I don't see Zan on ebay anymore I see people selling zan slugs, but none sells the 70 grains. I was wondering if you could test those slugs, or give me suggestions on how to tune them to around 800- 850 fps. I know I'm asking a lot... if you can't I understand... thanks anyway. 👍🏻 🙏

Hello. I recently got my Maverick 25. But adjusting both regulators, the second one started to leak air out of the adjustment screw. He stopped doing it when he tightened the screw. Do you think the o ring was damaged? Or do I just start the steps again to regulate? The pressure gauge of the second regulator no longer moved.

I like my mk ii as much as my m3. Trigger on my mk ii is much better. The only thingI like on the m3 more is the tuning ease. My favorite fx is my wildcat mk iii .22. More accurate than my impacts or maverick, and ergonomics are perfect and the trigger was match grade perfection right out of the box.

so I got my gun dialed in and set my first reg at 180 and second at 150. I got everything dialed in no leaks everything is good. I went outside and shot the first shot and wow it was super quiet no power ... so I figured it needed to be shot a few times, so I kept on. I refilled the mag and topped off the bottle at 250 bar and fired again now the pellet goes into 3/4 " plywood to the skirt not all the way through like before each shot was going through 2 - squares of plywood and hitting the back stop concrete board. I am asking could this be a hammer spring issue?? or is there a number I can call to get the factory settings for the regulators for 30 cal maverick sniper? any help is greatly app.

Friends don't let friend buy dual reg airguns. Trust me folks, I have a dozen FX guns, spend the extra cash and get an M3/Panthera, and much easier to tune. If you want to tinker with pressures, play with different ammo, etc. going through multiple tunes on this is a pain. Just don't...or message me and buy mine so I can get a Panthera Hunter. ;-) All that said, brilliant videos.

1. Regulator 140 Bar 2. Regulator 110 Bar. It takes time for the regulator manometer to come from 100 bar to 110 bar after 2-3 shots. 8-10 seconds. What is the problem. Instability in FPS 1000-940 chasm

Same with mine. FX told me to set the 1st reg 50 bar from the 2nd. Some AMP regs are more sensitive then others. I did it and the issue is mostly gone. Lasik changes the CORNEA. Not the LENS. Lens issues are entirely different. You have PRESBYOPIA, or "OLD SIGHT" .

If you want to maintain the integrity of your tunes, please show a video to all the novices on how you were coming up with these internal hammer spring adjustments. The only way you could be coming up with these 5.80 mm and 3.11 mm measurements is by taking that hammer wheel out of the gun and measuring them so you have a lot of people scratching their head if you want to be thorough, be thorough

Math says that es of 25fps at 1000fps gives you a 20mm spread on paper at 100meters. Es does matter.

hey Steve! shoutout from India! We're restricted to .177 Cal here and through reliable sources i understand there're over 1k FX Airgun owners, mix of Maverick Compact (500mm Barrel-Double Reg.), and Impact M2 (600mm Barrel). And i happen to be one of the Maverick Compact's. I understand the same tuning principles apply in .177 but the heaviest and affordable projectiles here are in ~16gr ballpark, slugs, around 18-20gr. >>Could You present to us most powerful (knock-down impact) and at the same time accurate (smallest group size) tune for 50 & 100 Yards? >>Another request would be a stripe-down video of full servicing the Maverick and Compact since there're multiple owners who've burst O-rings, and possibly second reg., messing up caught in temptation to increase thump at distance. And if that was a 'Long-Text', i've watched Your 1+hrs Videos can't number how many times, and if above requests come out to be served in 2+hrs long, It'd won't deter the determined ones either... special thanks for the session with PJ.... a lotssa fundamentals brainwork there!
