Mathew Kocher I can only say that it was 100% worth it coming from a stock seat. I think you would need to get someone's opinion who's tried other seats like ConnorFXDB. I would also try to hit up some group rides/events where you can actually sit on some different bikes to get a feel. The moment I was 100% certain on the bars and the seat is when I sat on Peter Gunz Dyna who was running the same. Let me know how it goes man! ⚡️🤘

Mathew Kocher it's def different! But agree with everything fxdls brook said. If you can, if you know of someone with it, try and sit on it. Initially had the mustang solo seat and loved it! And later switched and the lucky daves was awesome!! I've sat on the saddlemen seat and I would pick the LD seat over that one. But that's me. I like the positioning moreso than the saddleman

Need some AMSOIL in that thing now. One of the best things I've done to my Dyna and Ultra. Smoother shifts, easier to find neutral, and cooler running bike. Love it so much decided to be a dealer after my friends wanted to start running in their bikes....let me know if you need any man.

Beautiful bike bro. Aside from the Exhaust, my bike is fully stock. I couldn't even afford a full system so I opted for slip ons. I made a wishlist video right before Christmas and I had the Bung King on there. I also want a fairing but I am still debating whether to get T bars or taller apes, but it's gonna be a WHILE before I do any upgrades.

I am about to do bars. Not sure if i should get 14" San Diego bars or maybe the 15" Lucky 13's. How tall are you? Im 5'11" but short legs and longer torso, arm reach is probably a little above average. I was thinking about going with the Corbin widow maker seat which sits back a couple inches from where the luckey daves seat, it looks like. Is going with 15" lucky thirteens crazy? Any help would be great.

Will be nice to hear some of what was passed along in that 30 minute convo with Dave about bar height and rider comfort. BearerOfFate thanks man!! Yeah you might be a candidate for the 15" bars. When I was on the phone with Dave one of the things he suggested was actually putting your hands up where they are most comfortable and measuring from there; this definitely helped inform my choice on the 13" bars. As for the changing of the cables/wires, it's a little different than most Dynas because it's the only one with throttle by wire. I do recall that the clutch wire was 68", as for the rest I gotta pull out the parts list and check. Definitely working on that next video once the weather/schedule permits. Hey man, nice upgrades! You mentioned how the auto tune made a difference with starting. Were you having hard/slow starts? I've got an FP3 and the bassani RR3 exhaust on my FXDLS, and I've had starting issues. I'm waiting until after my 1000mi service before I run the auto tune.

Skottie delago thanks man! It was one of the maps fp3 had, it's programmed for v&h pipes, if I remember correctly the 2 in 1 that most resembled the map for the thunderheader was the v&h pro pipe. Definitely worth doing, bike is wayyyy more responsive now. Let me know how it goes!! 🗽💯⚡️

I just had one question I can't seem to find any info on what type of cables people are using for a 14" Lucky Daves bars I know you have to swap them out but are people using Street Bob cables or going with after market ones just wondering if you could help me out. Yooo that is very exciting, congrats!! Yeah I know you guys get hit a lot harder than us, we still got some snow on the ground but should be gone in a few days. Ok, so here's what I do know. IF you decide to go with the 13" Lucky 13's, you will not have to change the cables assuming you have a FXDB or are using cables from one; I believe this also holds true for the 12' San Diego bars. However, I'm not so sure with anything higher than that. I think your best bet here is to just call Lucky Daves, they were super responsive and helpful when I had a similar question. If not, let me know because I definitely run into people running those same bars who could probably answer that question a lot better than I can. I believe Corocket runs those bars and has done a video on them, maybe hit him up. Regardless, let me know how it goes! Excited for ya!!

Nice bike bro. I just installed my fp3 too. But haven't messed with it yet. Just did the initial setup by choosing generic pipe, I have a tbr pipe. On the auto tune feature, you just select it every time you ride, right? After the ride just choose apply option? How many tanks did you use before you selected to finish auto Tune? Also, got my 2 up seat RSD. Was gonna install it but looks like its gonna scratch the fender. May I know what you put under the seat to protect the paint. Thanks.

STIjojoSTI hey man! Thanks for watching! As for the seat, mine came with some hardware including a small spacer (soft, maybe felt) that rested between the seat and the fender. If they didn't give you one in sure you can buy the generic spacer anywhere if you're worried about it getting scratched. I actually had to do the same thing when I had a luggage rack attached.

STIjojoSTI so as for the auto tune, first off I can't recommend doing it sooner than later, I really regret that I waited so long to do mine. I believe we only used maybe a quarter tank of gas, if that? I'm to attach a message my mechanic (Gerard-Rolling Thunder) sent me regarding this, it will do it more justice than I can. Hope it helps! 🤘⚡️🗽 "the Fuel Pak 3 app can be downloaded on your phone. Basically, you first select a map from the map data base available from Vance & Hines. You load the map into the factory ECM (brain), if the description of the map is a perfect match for your bike, pipes and air cleaner, you are done. If there is not a perfect match (as in your thunder header) you select auto tune from the options available on the app. What this does is allow the FP3 to record air /fuel ratios that Vance & Hines have pre-decided are the best overall ratios for performance (IE 13.2:1 air fuel or 13.5:1 air to fuel). So as you drive the bike the white squares on the auto tune grid will change colors, yellow for one cylinder optimized and green for both cylinders optimized. Once most of the map is optimized you then "write" the new auto tune map to the ecm to replace the map originally installed at the beginning, Once you finish, you can remove the FP3 as it is not needed to continue to operate the bike, (yours is still here) What the FP3 does not allow is to change the air/fuel mixture to your choice, so it is not a tool for dyno tuning. Most bikes don't need dyno tuning, only if you have a combination of heads, cams, pipes, big bore cylinders and big bore throttle bodies, then a dyno tune is a must Your FP3 will compensate for most additional changes you may make in the future, (Cams, heads, pipes etc.) so it is a great start point and saves $500 in dyno tune cost"

did you put the bars on yourself? did you have to extend your electric lines for cruise and throttle? do you have part numbers for all the cabling brakes/clutch/electric?

I was considering trying to install them myself at first, but even my uncle who used to build choppers was telling me to just get it done at the shop because the job could be an ordeal with the inner wiring and whatnot. So in the end I brought it to a trusted mechanic and I'm happy I did. If you have an FXDB you are in luck because you won't have to change the cables, which wasn't the case for me 😔. I'm going to attach what the shop sent me while my bike was in there, I think it should answer some questions. Safe riding brother! Let me know how it goes for you! ⚡️🗽🤘 From email from shop: "The clutch cable was 68" long, (cables are measured by outer housing) You're front brake hose from handlebar master to dual disc calipers is a one piece hose Normally to install a longer upper hose you would have to replace all the hoses with a bolt together design. We saved you some money by modifying your brake hose just above the t-block under the lower tree by adding an AN#3 fitting and only replaced the upper hose. If your friend wants to do the same modification the upper hose (only) length is 26" The wiring we extend in house, as we have all the colors for the wiring and make our own harness to length, Same for the fly by wire throttle control, which on some models will reach without extending This probably won't help him much as your model bike is the only Dyna with throttle by wire control"

Hey bro, sorry for commenting on such an old post. I have the low rider s too and I'm thinking of going with lucky 13 13inch bars also. Just wandered did you ever see how the bars looked with the original headlight cowel before you added the Memphis Shades fairing?? I'm reluctant to go too high for some reason as I feel if I do change out fairing I would want it to be higher than the bars. Living in England it's gonna be an expensive buy with shipping and custom taxes so any advice would be greatly relieved!! Love your material man hands down best fxdls vlogger on KZbin 👌🏼..... Hct80 it's pretty close. When I spoke to them on the phone they told me they specifically designed that stitching to match the fxdls, so there's that. I've seen some guys go with the black or grey stitch, but I'm definitely glad I went with gold! 🗽⚡️💯

Ernesto Utrilla hey man! I know for recent model year Dynas, it's pretty easy. All I had to do is screw out the bulbs and replace them with the custom dynamics filaments, as easy as changing a light bulb. My boy BXPolymath actually just did a video on this, you should check out his channel. As for older bikes, such as my 1988 sportster, it is not that easy and a load equalizer is needed(I have not yet done this). Thanks for watching and I hope this helps, let me know how it goes!

Ernesto Utrilla oh that's really weird then. If you bought 1157s you shouldn't be having that issue. When we installed the rear ones though in my bike, at first on of them was doing something weird, but then after being taken out and put back in it was fine, has been fine ever since. If it's still an issue I would call custom dynamics or revzilla or someone. Hope it works out man!
