"If you're not suffering on your bike, you're not doing it right. " I agree?....I don't know that suffering is the word I choose. I love the emotional, spiritual and physical juxtapositions I get from riding my motorcycle and I push it further and harder because those experiences become even more intense and my love for motorcycling grows every single time no matter if the ride was more environmentally, physically challenging or described as brutal even. It probably looks like suffering for the art from the outside when in reality, we choose this. Worse, we gather content chemical reactions from it that no drug could reproduce. Great episode and Vonasphalt is definitely an inspirational rider I look forward to seeing in my Instagram feed for both his commitment to hard and fast miles and amazing photography of those moments.

I totally agree with how you phrased it. It's definitely a choice. I think to me these moments also allow to put in perspective the amazing ones. The harder things get, the more you can appreciate when things are perfect, and also realize they don't need to be perfect to be appreciated sometimes. @VonGasphalt It's funny, I've been riding since 1980 and certainly I must had some really agonizing rides but all I remember is the amazing experiences I had over the years. I'm fine with my mind choosing that option. It's cold and dreary here, my bike is coated with road grime and there's no bike nights to celebrate the comaradry of the ecstasy of riding...the southern motovloggers are riding in t-shirts in the sun but I'm fine with that as well. I think we become whole from seasons and dramatic changes and trauma and isolation...maybe not whole in the sense of a Jordan Peterson self help manifesto but whole in the manner of being in touch with how our ancestors lived and the survival instincts unlocked in our DNA. Or maybe I just had a good Old Fashion and a nice meal on the Kentucky River after a successful trip to pick up a high end bottle of Bourbon for the Road Captain for one of his future driveway episodes!

M8 is a better engine all around I’ll admit, but the sound of that Twin Cam is something special.

I’m familiar with the M8 but not a ‘Twin Cam’.. which bikes came with a twin cam? They introduced the M8 in 2020 no?

50K miles on the engine before having to replace it ouch.

That's about how far I got with mine before having serious issues - Fast forward to 124 life

@@gnarlytothemax not at all for a 110 I guess that's what I'm finding out unless you do a Timken conversion replace the lifters valve springs guides cams good tune after market oil cooler and a tank lift. Maybe FXDLS Brooklyn can chime in if I missed anything.
