@@Burden82 it’s easy to hate from the safety of your keyboard. I share the same sentiments as him on the fxr. You clearly cannot ride for $hiit and you SHOULD leave your slow ass bike stock. When i got the chance to buy a rusty FXR cheap i bought i did.😊 So got both bikes... Think i sell the TC later for obvious reason 😅

Sunday night i was blasting down 1-71 south, we'd went to Dayton ohio to the Packard museum (which is an amazing museum and one doesn't think of Packard as an American icon until you're a few miles from Wright Pat and thirty miles from GE and Proctor and Gamble, Crosely manufacturing and you realize the engineers for "The Right Stuff" drove well engineered vehicles and that thought permeated my grey matter as I blasted home on my Electra Glide Standard, a engineering masterpiece that evolved at the same rate as the FX models has. Traffic was heavy crossing the 1-275 plain which is the unofficial "Cincinnati" city limits and it got fast. The EGS and i ramped it up, but ill admit i think about thinner and not bench pressing the touring chassis thru traffic. I have often thought of a Twinkie powered FXR chassis with tall upside down Ducati Multistrada forks and a late model bagger swingarm...The EGS is hard on your local bagger bros tennis elbow and ego... I mean, a comfortable passenger area, luggage and comfy ergonomics aren't really that important are they?

I guess I'm in this group with my 03' Harley FXDX Dyna anniv edition! Yes, cam chain tensioner replacement is a labor of love! I very much like to tell you about a ride on my FXDX. I live in NW Washington State by hwy 101. I bought this property to ride Washington NW loop, Shelton North to Pt. Townsend, West to NW corner of America. Then South along Pacific Coast to Aberdeen. Then east back to Shelton. Creek along border of my property empties into salmon fish hatchery. Hatchery releases salmon into Hoods Canal. Im going to JR Hidaway for Taco's along South shore of hoods Canal. I get white flash an its a bald eagle closing on my left handlebar. Eagle stays 3" from my left hand for almost 4 minutes by my formation handlebar clock, just windsurfing off my detachable windshield, while doing 38mph. White service van come at us, so he has to move out of my on coming lane. Eagle flies between my windshield and helmet, brushing his right wing across the top of my helmet. I'm wondering if 38 mph is taxing them? But I'm reassured when he just loses me with his speed. Throughout entire encounter, his mate is flying 1"-2" off eagles left wingtup while I'm 3" off his right! I was honored to ride with match pair until traffic broke us up! Later one of our Harley riders got Lew G. Disease. So we put together a ride while Ronny is still able to ride. I see the ride going along Hoods Canal where my eagle encounter happened, so I tell bikers to watch out for eagle pair. While riding in same area, eagles flew down an tracked along with all bikers for miles. But not 3" from our handlebars, half way up tree line! Everyone was amazed when we finished our ride. Eagles over years have flew with me an my fxdx now 7 times. Eagles know me now an fly with me along Hoods Canal. I wrote up encounter in Thunder Press magazine in Sept an Oct 09' issues, making NW Washington known for eagle encounter! Look up article under Tim an letters too Editor!
