I feel like a properly tuned evo could probably crank 80-90hp which would scoot pretty good i would think. Apparently the EV27 cam is a good choice for those on the street. Still wount touch the modern dyna but could make the difference feel less drastic with a similar power to weight. Love the videos bruv stay safe out there!

The FXR was the best handling bike Harley ever made period! But it was old technology. I guess DYNA s just looked like many other old bikes because of dual shocks. So Harley dumped them. I had a FXR style frame out of Sacramento with an S&S with a 6 speed and I am telling you that was the best Harley I ever owned.

As a FXR owner I've noticed that more and more serious hardcore Motorcycle Club members tend to mix both of the worlds together: so get your 116 out of your Dyna and put it in your FXR, or any other upgrade motor for all that matters ! Best of both worlds...; The flickability of an FXR and the power of a modern engine... I mean here in Europe with all of these narrow curvy roads, you can go like hell and no other Dyna will be able to catch up with you, even with an old all original EVO, so imagine what would happen if you'd do a upper grader swapper ;-)

@FXDLSBrooklyn I grew up working on 70s and 80s Hondas so high mileage never put me off. Then onto sportys and buells. So when I'm looking at fxrs, I'll find a 30k and be like man, on a Honda that was nothing. But on a buell or sportster ehhhhhh.... then back at it looking for carbs dynas with 10k on the clock. There's this 10 mile 03 anniversary fxdl I've been having a hard time passing up.

The best way I've heard it described is, an FXR is like a low rider, and a Dyna is like a muscle car. They don't have to be mutually exclusive. A Dyna can be a muscle low rider, and a FXR can be low rider muscle car. I'm an 80s baby and I really expected to like the mid/late 90s FXDX, and I do. But it's still not my 84 FXR. Harley saleskid: "the new Dynatail is 60% smoother than your Twin Cam..." Me: Junior I commuted on a 75 Shovelhead with 35mm forks and stock brakes in critical traffic for a decade, I've owned Ironheads and rigid framed Evo's, I owned and loved a FXRP...if I wanted smooth l wouldn't ride a motorcycle. I mean since we're spending someone else's money, I'd go with a FXR with a S&S 89" magneto powered Evo (which would give me the ability run a kick start only 5 speed,) 49mm Dyna mid-glide and 13.5 shocks, beefed up swingarm and no gauges of course. (And since Revzilla is offering 50% Sedici stuff, a couple different backpacks instead of saddlebags. )...im biased, I rode Joel Otto's kick only FXR with the dual throat Dellorto coming thru the frame and tank, ive raced Tom Rose on his kick start only "80" inch lightened FXR against my 96" S&S stroked Sportster, I shed skin and sheetmetal with my FXRP, I have been trying to recreate that flickability versus weight ratio since then, unsuccessfully with a couple Evo Sportsters (ergonomics can't be beat on the FXR) and now with my RK...I haven't tried a Dyna yet but I just don't have the hips that look right in Dynabro skater trousers...and while the local dealers have a buttload of Dyna's, the temptation is strong. Luckily my favorite motovlogger hasn't been featuring one bad ass Dyna after another pegging my "damn I need a Dyna" meter.

An honor - Thank you for the kind words Flynch - I know a lot of people who go with the beefier swing arm, and I never understood the purpose other than aesthetics - The stories you've provided of that FXRP always have me wishing you still had it in the stable!

@@FXDLSBrooklyn I had to sell it when I built my house and horse barn, the bank paid my builder his last installment before he built my barn and he went on a high end hunting trip, (plumbing not done in the house, no light fixtures) so I sold it to hire a lawyer and pay the plumber to finish the job, (I could have finished the plumbing myself but he was holding my 1911 clawfoot bathtub hostage)...I at least sold it to a one legged soldier who cherishs it and swears he's never selling it so theres that. It was an ex-Shreveport cop bike that had served duty during Katrina when the only thing that could get into New Orleans was motorcycles, afterwards the bikes were shoved in a trailer muddy and sold at auction. I don't know that I treated it any gentler when I owned it and it didn't seem to mind...except the starter button, I had to drill a hole in the starter and use a #2 pencil to engage the solenoid. But I like to move forward and build things I haven't experienced. Long run on sentences brought to you by forgetting my gym bag on my way to work.

Yeah during the summer was riding with my father, and a group of Supersport riders came up behind us. The speed limit is around 40 because there are businesses, fast food places, etc etc. They were cool, going from light to light for about 3 red lights but when the dude in front turn all of them tried keeping up and run my father and I out of our fucking lanes like what the hell man. Same ride during that day I almost watched my father go down too, I ride behind him and the speed limit is 55mph. I see this car waiting to make a right, i could just tell this person was gonna pull out. I already was braking so I was fine, my father had to swerve and almost hit the car. The entire time behind us there was a cop and saw the entire thing lmfao pulled the little old lady over instantly. That entire day was chalked from the beginning man I swear lol
