Whoever posted this video is my mate for life. In the 80s, my high school went from being a relatively safe '80s new wave' school to a gritty, wannabe Blood/Crips gang infested battle zone. Clay years G.B.H, Secret years Exploited (w. Big John), One Way System, Red Alert and Cockney Rejects were the bands that helped prepare me for trying to survive, find a girlfriend, and graduate with decent grades in an environment that had suddenly gone from finding a highschool sweet heart to finding yourself in the middle of a gang fight. Thank you for this video!!!

hey mate, are a black person or latino, because, blood (blacks) and latino (crips), are not white folks, did ya live in america or britain back in the 80's, and gang fight, was that when ya turned hip hopper?, shame, if ya sold out mate, if ya still in hip hop, better be careful not to get shot from behind, people these days hates all rappers, no matter the skin color, expecially, if ya are black, i know a few blacks, running from the whole hip hop crap, and turning into punk rockers, because they don't want to get killed, and yes they sold their rap crap cds and lps, and got rid of their rap gangsta cloting, and wore punk stuff, now they are alive, but the dumb dumbs that still stayed in rap, are 8 feet under, not alive,, i had a mexican friend that i grew up with back in the 80s tru k-12th grade, man, everybody told him to not get into hip hop, to turn to punk rock or metal or goth, or new waver, but no, well in march of 1989, he got shot coming home from high school, he never graduated with the rest of us, in his school,........marius(punk rules). @@letitiabradin810 No, I never 'sold out'. I remained a skunk (skin / punk) through it all. So I never changed. The point I was trying to make was my school went from being relatively alternative to your typical 80s gang infested school. And me being a bootboy really put a bullseye on my back.

I remember this episode of The Tube really well.... they featured a couple of these 'new wave of British punk' acts on the show and the other one apart from GBH which really grabbed my attention was the mighty Blitz, from Derbyshire, who if I may recall correctly, performed their then single New Age along with a short 'interview' with one of the more gormless 'presenters' (of which they had a fair few) too. I couldn't stop laughing at the dork who seemed totally clueless .... Happy days when you're a 17 year old wanting some respite from all that commercial chart stuff!
