As a Korean, I would like to break down about this song. There are lots of Korean wordplay, so some lines of lyrics might feel awkward, These are some clues that you can understand the song more. 88: GD's birthday is 8. 18. 1988, So he puts his own meaning on the number 8. That's why he wrote so many 8s in his lyrics. You can see the Metro map in the MV. it's a track-list of his up coming album, there are 8 tracks. The last line of lyrics "Fly high": The original Korean lyrics' pronunciation is "Pal Pal Nara" (Means fly high). There is a wordplay as well, 'Pal' is 8, same pronunciation, and 'Pal Pal' is kind of onomatopoeia, 'Nara' is Flying, so this line was translated flying high in English. And that's why the ending scene shows 8 8 (Pal Pal) and GD jumps (Flying) (Nara) The meaning the wordplay of the lyric "Spot to rest, a Global Luxury": The original Korean Lyric is this, 누울 자리 글로벌 명품 "Nu ul Jari, Global Myong pum (Glo / bal myong pum)" In here, Glo means text, lyrics, writings, everything about word or text. Global is global, the exact english word, but here's the thing, Bal myong pum is Invention. So he connected two Korean words to one English word (Glo + bal). GD is G.O.A.T! The legend of legends in K-pop. G-Dragon and Bigbang, the OG kings of kpop who changed the whole of kpop industry to what it is now. His arsenal includes songs with artists such as Missy Elliott, Diplo, Skrillex. I highly recommend you listen to or watch more His and BigBang songs Bignang produced the first light stick. There is another must see performance from BigBang members G-Dragon & Taeyang, but from the MAMA awards, (Mnet Asian Music Awards) from the yr 2014. 🔥❣️GD x Taeyang - Good Boy with English subtitle (Complete Version) by channel D CYK. This is the one that shows BTS who looked up to, idolized, been inspired & influenced by BigBang as well as individual members while growing up, like many others, were in the audience in the area in front where the other performing idols groups sit.! This is where GD does an amazing rap performance beforehand, which is why I chose a vid from channel D CYK since it’s the only one, that had the ever so important eng subs, where ❣️🔥GD (G-Dragon) is actually shading the very award show as well as others that always give the same idols from the same big companies awards, not giving others a chance. GD performed this although BigBang as well as the members were the ones who always win most of those awards back then, but he still wanted to speak out in spite of it about all the corruption in the industry back then. BigBang still are the idols of idols. Just the idols they inspired is impressive. Jungkook, Jin, J-Hope, and Jimin from BTS. Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo from Black Pink, The8, S. Coups, DK, Hoshi, and Seungkwan from Seventeen. Hyunjin, Changbin and Felix from Stray kids. Too many to name. Even the new generation loves them. There's a video XG at Taeyang concert and he gives Cocona a hug and she breaks down in tears. Also they are a live performances group. They're live performances are legendary.
