Yeah, I had that idea/realization after Scatterbrain and reviewing footage, and mentioned it in the DYFLWD reaction (which I couldn't remember the intro to since you're basically a completely different person by the time that song finally ends). I guess they really just couldn't figure that one out either since in WoR you just get 6 stars for 100%.

It was pretty technically impressive for the time and made some decent changes such as improving sliders, but the setlist is bloated with dull/uninteresting tracks (particularly for vets) and it was very clearly catered to super casuals more than any entry in the series. At the end of the day, GH was about to die when this game released and nothing was gonna stop it. The gimmick/charade had worn thin with most casuals by WT and vets had gotten too skilled to be challenged/impressed by the bulk of what the series was offering (not to mention the atom bomb that was '09 bloat in general). GH5 at least set the groundwork for a good enough follow up, but even WoR couldn't steer the trajectory the series was inevitably headed.
