Thanks for the information! The GI Joe Complete Collection hardcovers are something I totally forgot before filming.

Yes, I will continue doing comic summary/reviews like this (one volume of the trade paperback = 10 comics). I am thinking of taking a poll to see what individual issues viewers would like to see being done in-depth as a separate stand-alone review video.

my love for comics began with gi joe,it would be a couple of years until i actually bought any superhero comics. i am in the middle of trying to collect all 155 issues,and need just 26 more then i will be able to read the whole thing from begining to end.

I collected a bunch of figures and some vehicles. mostly around mid to late 80's. I just started letting my 3 year old play with my least favorite figures. He loves it. just standing them up and mostly admiring them, I love it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't need digital copies, but I think I'll start zooming in on important panels.

I recently re-read the entire GI-JOE ARAH series issues 1-155. A weird thing I noticed is that Hawk appears to be revealed to be a Cobra spy. And this is never mentioned or resolved again for the remainder of the series. I think there was supposed to be a sub-plot that Hawk was a Cobra spy but they just dropped or forgot about it. Weird. What is also annoying is that they never got resolved the Zartan killer of Hard Master or the killers of Soft Master. Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes never were able to settle that score.

Wow really cool review Kevin. Are you doing more in the future? Maybe a page by page review...giving your thoughts about the panels and the story. I love the extra info you always give when reviewing.

Bought those first 5 volumes back in 2003. Loved how non-superhero-y and grounded, for the most part, it was. & a lot of great military insight

Loved the old comics. Wish I had not sold them after high school. Collected them all from very first issue til almost the end of the run.

You make the absolute best vintage G.I. Joe videos. A lot of variety and all very insightful. Do you plan on having a complete catalog of vintage G.I. Joe toy reviews?
@formbx2578 жыл бұрын
+komikbook98 Thanks for watching my videos! I can't do a complete vintage catalog, since there are series I don't plan to buy (like 1992-1994 years and sub-teams like Tiger Force and Eco-Warriors). Hopefully, there will be other reviewers who will cover those toys (like HoodedCobraCommander788 and Red Squad).

This is truly random but do you have any plans to review the 1987 Gung Ho figure? I ask because it was a childhood favorite and started my interest in the Marine Corps. Just something about that legendary blue dress uniform. Anyway, if you do own this version may I suggest a date to review it: November the 10th. Considering the vast array of military knowledge which you greatly display during your videos, you probably know the significance of the before mentioned date.

I bet the main reason they didn't put in the entire covers was to discourage piracy.

Never read the comics (collected the toys and watched the shows) until I watched this review. Huge fan of comics, just thought GI Joe was a bit campy (back then - IDW stuff was amazing and still is). I was pleasantly surprised. Was really amazed at all the strong female characters in the book as well (considering the time it was released). Glad I got to see this review in my feed. Was worth the watch and gave me some good reading material to boot.

Yes, I will be doing 1987 Dress Blues Gung-Ho. Starting in October I will converting last year's "Marines Month" BlipTV videos to KZbin format. So 1987 Gung-Ho and 1988 Warthog w/Sgt.Slaughter (which I didn't have last year) will fall within November!

Just bought the digest-size Gi Joe #1 not really knowing what it was-- surprised it was in color and that it had the back up story

the first few comics of Gijoe had, it seemed to me the Marvel nature, the types of stories we find in, perhaps Fantastic Four, for example. A robot comes in Gijoe headquarters as a Trojan horse and it's head has tentacles. In another place Cobra Commander Gijoe had caught happened to be an impostor robot, whereas the real one had escaped...And so that kind of story changes later on and becomes like a continual soap opera-type story.

I was never used to seeing the blond-haired version of Hawk. .I didn't have all the comics and confused him with Duke.

These are some great comics which unfortunately I only managed to get hold of when I was as adult as at the time in the UK we had the battle Action Force comic, which completely characterised the Joes and Cobra differently, including the Joes having more international backgrounds. I prefer Special Missions but the main Joe book really was a strong title, I believe it was one of Marvel's biggest sellers in the mid 80s.

hey I just inherited a metric shit load of GI Joe comics from my uncle and I have All the comics that are in the description. How much would that be worth?
@formbx2578 жыл бұрын
The value depends on the condition of each comic. I'm not a comic grader, so you may find members of the comic collecting community better help. Also check out GI Joe forums like YoJoe and HISSTank who have members who specifically collect GI Joe comics, too.

GI Joe collectors will pay top dollar for the following issues: 1, first GI Joe team (Hawk, Scarlett, Snake Eyes) and Cobra (Commander, Baroness) 11, first Destro, 21, first Storm Shadow (Silent Interlude), 22, first Duke, Roadblock, 24, (classic Commander escapes cover) 26-27, Snake Eyes origin, 155 final issue. There are other issues released inbetween, but these are the most coveted for older fans and 21 is a collectors item across many different fandoms not exclusive to GI Joe collectors.

Trans8010 like in money amount ?
@trans80107 жыл бұрын
It depends on condition. 1 can go for 30-50 in NM condition where 21 can go for 100 if in the same condition. Other issues values vary depending on character appearance and storyline, and rarity such as low print run and of course condition. Collectors want high grade copies and will pay hundreds for an issue of 21, but a low or mid grade will only sell for half that.
