Larry Houston here --- I'm glad everyone liked the GI Joe Movie Intro I did. It was fun to design and draw. What most people don't know is that I made it all up from my imagination, no script, and directed it. My years of working on the syndicated TV series gave me the insight to create a lot of fun shots and keep the adventure pacing high.

Ordered a seige of Liberty Island by air drop and sea with zero air support which is why the x-38s dunk on Cobra's navy here. Inspired by the way the world is going down the drain right now and Cobra Commander's origin of a disgruntled, disillusioned used car salesman who starts travelling the US and gathers a following of like-minded people to get back at the government that let them down (so not the dumb Cobra-Commander-is-actually-a member-of-an-underground-reptilian-race...) i am thinking of actually starting a real-life Cobra. We would be like Anonymous, only with cooler masks and costumes (with LOTS of Cobra logo's off course!), and we would actually DO things instead of just posting empty threats and lame conspiracy theories on KZbin. I won't lie. I watched GI Joe mostly for cobra. Despite the fact that they were portrayed as the inept losers I still found most of their Characters to be cooler looking than the joes, and as a kid that alone would sell you

Good thing that the G.I. Joe protagonist ass kicking was cut out from this. I hate those average Joes. Cobras are about unity and might of organisation as antagonist usually are. You hear cobra commander shout "Cobra retreat" to minimize suffering of the people, in stead of shouting "fight for the flag" (is to say "fight for me"). Antagonist are thinkers that build and protagonists are only there to destroy. As it is said Cobra wants to unite the world (or "take over the world"). Unity!

Rewatching the show as an adult makes me realize how little sense the cartoon Cobra made sense. Why does the Commander have so many soldiers. Clearly even if he's paying them they can't do much with the money they're terrorists. Besides world domination which they fail at every time they don't have a goal like most terrorists have that brings in new recruits. There's only so many pissed off people that would say "Ya I'll join an army universally hated just to stick it to the world." All of that seems solved when Cobra Commander actually founds a cult in the comics. Having him be incredibly charismatic rather than a bumbling fool, or at least doing both would have been awesome. Granted cults in an 80s cartoon would not have gone well. Either way still tied with Transformers, TMNT, and Scooby Doo as my favorite cartoons growing up and still fun to watch now.

In the movie the Blue Cobra's are only really seen doing like mechanic work while the Vipers are the regular foot soldiers but in the show the blue were the main soldiers and red were the body guards and elite troops
