Bought one, its great when on a budget. Like a Russian knife, own it for life and rely on it without paying for an esee knife for example. Great for camping, my kids loved throwing it, chopped food, made spears etc...highly recommended!

Would you be able to wear this knife (in sheath) while going trough water or swamp or will it rust?
@GearReviewDepot8 жыл бұрын
+Jelis Van Calster It will rust if you don't take care of it, just keep it oiled and you'll be all set.

Hi Tac'D, how's the edge retention on that G.I. Tanto, it seem's to me to be a softer steel to be able to beat it as hard, softer steel, generally don't hold a good edge or as long.
@GearReviewDepot9 жыл бұрын
So far so good. Used it hard on several day trips and haven't noticed it getting dull. I'd still prefer 1095 but it's really not bad at all.

There are people saying that it looks ugly but it apparently does the job.
@GearReviewDepot7 жыл бұрын
It certainly looks cheap to me but it absolutely does the job. Strong blade for sure.

well, its kinda ugly but it also look raw and manly

Lots of knife for a bargain price ,that GI Tanto by Cold Steel, no mall ninja junk there Pal, just tough 1055 carbon steel with a sharp edge out the box.
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
power play 4 real Not a bad blade, didn't last very long though. Broke the tip off, then gave it away.

I like the review but what's with the gloves? Is that the new American thing?
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
Dutch Bushcraft Yeah it's this new thing us Americans do on really cold days, we put on extra clothing including a hat and gloves. Pretty crazy isn't it?
@stevanoutdoor6 жыл бұрын
Probably a cultural thing indeed. You probably also shake hands with someone wearing gloves. ;) We don't.
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
Dutch Bushcraft So during the winter or really cold days you don't wear extra clothing? Maybe a hat or gloves?
@stevanoutdoor6 жыл бұрын
Yes we do. We just don't make video's wearing stupid gloves. And when we shake hands we take the gloves off. That's all. ;)
@stevemartin90465 жыл бұрын
Why is it every time I see this Dutch Bushcraft guy commenting, it's a snidey, bitchy dick comment?
@dragon38319 жыл бұрын
Please forgive my ignorance but, to me... this doesnt seem like a bushcraft style knife. I see it more of a fending off a bear attack knife while your out camping, and the price seems right.
@GearReviewDepot9 жыл бұрын
dragon3831 I agree with you somewhat. I guess the question would be what exactly is a bushcraft knife? For me, it would be any knife that I can do "bushcraft" kind of chores with. I guess it depends who's hand it's in. I'm no bushcraft expert by any means so I wouldn't be the best example. It certainly does most of the tasks easily that's for sure. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Be safe.

What would you prefer that GI Tanto or the USMC KaBar. 👍 for GI Tanto or 👎 for USMC KaBar
@nonjaninja49046 жыл бұрын
KaBar obviously. USA made.

Hey Tim, yeah everyone says good things about that knife. For $30 you can't go wrong, I would get one and I still might but I'm tied up with my latest addiction "folders". I have my eye on the Fox Karambit at this moment. Be careful out there, it's easy to get cut, trust me on that one, gotta keep my head out of my ass and maybe I wouldn't keep getting hurt. Take care.
