i had a friend in tennessee who lost his brother to cancer. his brother's last request was that they play "welcome to the black parade" at his funeral. anytime some person would play it around him, he'd shut down because it reminded him of his brother's passing. for a lot of people, that maybe the case when they hear this song because it brings back a bad memory. similar situation or different but equally bad. that's why i don't play the song in public. to avoid the potential of bringing someone to their knees because the song really reminds them of such a dark period in their lives.
