My grandparents both came from Gunzburg. My grandfather’s house is the one next to the Cow Tower ( Kuhturm ) his father was a cattle dealer and a butcher, his butcher shop was on the ground floor of the house. His name was Dominkus Benninger and his wife was born Kreszenia Fritz from Anhofen, Germany..

Great Work! You brought the place to life. The tourist trade must hate you, no need to visit after one of your videos.

I can remember my grandmother, always telling us stories of Gunzburg, when she lived there as a kid and young women. She told how there was a young boy in town, who she took care of, his name was Herman . I believe his last name began with the letter S. He had a bad accident on the hill going down from the Kuhturm. A truck had lost it’s brakes, and ran over him. He had bad head injuries, but did survive. When he grew up he became a barber in town. I believe he went to war, in the Second World War, but came home in the end. If anyone could tell me his full name, I’d be very happy. Maybe they might know more of his history, and hopefully he still has family in Gunzburg. I almost think his last name was , Scheinder perhaps, but not sure. Any clues would be helpful. My grandmother’s house was halfway down that hill, by the Kuhturm, then you made a right turn. Her house was only in there a short distance. Her father and mother lived there until they died, Gottlob Juchler and his wife was Magdalena born Spielberger in Munich.

I worked 30 years ago for the Company Mengele in Gunzburg, now I live in Florida.

The site is now a shopping centre. The Mengele company was acquired by a Dutch concern which still produces farming equipment.

Where is Mengele family and factory??

The factory was where the large shopping centre is today. The family is scattered all over the place.

There once was a street sign in GZ, showing us the way to the 'Mengele Ersatzteillager'!!! This was 30 years ago. And i was shocked!!! What about the lower district of GZ, Augsburger Str., Wasserburger Weg, etc. The social burning points of this city, killed by fog or by rain, like nowadays... GZ is just one more of these places, best forgotten and boring. But there are a few f****n drinking places, where tourists can blow their brains out. Or they can go to the (L)-egoland, where they can burn their money for nothing, the rest of their money, if there is something left. What about Lola Montez, what about Maria Theresia, what about their last social democratic major, killed by the Nazis. Don't read some stuff about some cities, stick your nose in every doorframe, you can reach and smell the sound of wood, available in dark and bright. Pure nature... Smell the voice of people in the streets. forgotten by history. This is entertainment, this is pop aka history...
