Giving children a leg up really doesn’t work. This clearly is not her first game of pool. Playing Reyes is a real treat of course. Him engaging them in a game is brilliant. But surely this is a chicken or the egg scenario. If she already knows who he is then she is clearly already a fan of the game. If she doesn’t then this game means little to nothing. Her level of play tells me she is already well invested in the game. So kind of proves my point.

@@todtalksbytanvee3746 to be honest, he does this multiple times when he's doing random play pool back in the PH with the kids who play in his pool studio/place. he plays with them, you can see it from the get go that he would win but when he sees the opportunity to teach, he would do it like what he did to Tanvee - placing the cue ball to the right place thinking it's (safety) then either he waits for his opponent to figure it out and when he/she doesn't, he would step in and instruct them the way he did to Tanvee. What an absolutely GOAT of pool. The best KICKER to ever play the game (very strategic and analytic)

Somewhere between 1983 and 1989 I remember watching a rain delay game and they inserted a pool game. I couldn’t go anywhere so I watched it and was absolutely amazed by this Filipino player, Efren Reyes, clean up the table with everyone else. I knew a Filipino fellow at work and when I saw him the I asked about him. My friend spoke about him in hushed Reverend tones. I’ve been a fan since then.

My son was born with one finger on his right hand and is right hand dominant, and has been watching Reye's shots and trying to emulate him. We walked into a bar to just practice and he ended up challenging people and won $60 tonight without losing a game. My love of the game began when I was about 9. I loved playing people better than me. Usually it was against men that were older and very good players. Losing to them made me better. As the only woman the team I played on in my mid 20's and they were near retirement or retired I beat them sometimes. By 30 I beat them all with regularity. Now I'm in my 60's and my sight is bad. What a run I had.🏆🏆🏆
