I've thought about building something like this but using a large PC fan to handle the snow. (then just mount it on a box car for 4 steam engines to push.)

WOW ! What motor are you using and what remote control system

It's a 540 sized motor with a gear reduction mounted. I used a regular cheap rc stick radio to control the speed of the motor. See my other vids to see this in the snow.

@@rides800 I realize it's been 4 years since this was posted, but I'm wondering....could you set up a circuit that picks up a signal from the DCC (possibly the strobes on the unit) to turn the motor on and off? Of course, you'll have to pre-set the speed control to the desired rpm.
