Kudos to Casio on all their models and technical inovations, but NOTHING looks and feels as good as a square. I think it is one of the best designed watches EVER, standing shoulder to shoulder with Rolex Submariner and other icons

Naravno :) G shock squares are iconic! My first G shock was dw5600eg (golden buttons like on this one). Second one wad dw5000sl - Spike Lee limited edition. That is where I got in love with screwback G shocks. Metal case coated in resin gives such a great feeling on wrist and also when holding it in hand. And that sound when you put it down on table is..aargh.. Only screwback owners know what I am talking about :D Selling my Spike was big mistake. I did earn some money, but anyway.. Currently I am without any G shock models in my ownership :/ I am aiming for gw5000... This one is "al pari" after I saw it on this detailed video.

Just picked up this watch! Its sooo nice for a basic G-Shock. Its got that classic metal build which I've been after forever, I cant get a vintage DW 5000 or DW 5600 for a decent price so I decided to buy new!

Finally the review for the DW5030 has arrived \o/ This watch was love at first sight for me! Purchased it for about 2 months now and wearing it for awhile. I like the weight on this and the etched screwback case is just a beauty. Always love the DWs with gold accents. If i may do i say , the feel on the wrist with the GW5000 is by far the best. Still nothing comes close. Nonetheless, this is a very nice looking watch. And definitely a keeper for me :) The band on this DW5035 is a regular band, the 444, as i have checked on other square Gs i own. I have also checked on the Japan model for this DW5035. The bucket is also imprinted Casio Thailand :( Thus i took the international (export) model since there is no difference and is cheaper. Sadly enough the price on this DW5035 and the Frogman have dropped substantially. Don't understand why :( I can see you are still digging on the white Pigalle :) Seeing it appearing very regularly on your videos. Will you be putting on other colour bezel and band for a video shoot? I have still not wore mine. Just the black Pigalle. Which i am slowly favouring :) The DW5600WB is my white watch to go to at least for now :) Again thank you for making so many nice reviews and tutorials! Power to gshock highfasion!!!

This is an awesome watch. My daily driver is the DW5600E-1V with an orange zulu strap. I love square G-Shocks and I have to get this one.

That DW5035D Origin Gold is a throwback 2 The DW5000C-1B came out in April 1983.

This model the DW-5035D has a silver tone , the DW5735D and the GF-8235D have a gold tone. They all have the tiny hole display. I bought all 3 and they look great.

Close, but not the same. The GW-5000 has DLC screwback thus the finishing feels different on wrist, the weight is 73.8g about 5 grams lighter too. The best part, the watch resin band feels much softer and comfortable than any square model. Perhaps a similar comparison would be to a GMW-B5000 instead.

If only they used the GW 5000 module with Tough Solar and Multiband 6, or the new full metal square module with Bluetooth. I'd pay extra for solar at least. This is like the GW 5000 minus the solar and atomic time sync, but with gold styling. Made in Thailand, too.

Well, you just explained a DW-5000. They released this to celebrate the first G-Shock though that was released in 1983. Similar construction but with slight different look.

If they add those functions, this would be a GW-5035D instead of DW-5035D and the price will doubles. This guy is not perfect but it is a little affordable. Casio did release the GW-5035A prior to this.

I own the GWB56000 but find it too light but then I find the GMWB5000 too 'loud and showy.....' I'd get a GW50001JF but I like the time showing when in timer or stopwatch modes, the ability swap day date AND being able to use the bluetooth....any thoughts?! Is there one I've missed? Is the GMWB5000 my only choice? Does the 'GW5035D ' actually exist?

You'll miss out on so much in life if all you do is make judgements based off spec sheets alone. The look and feel of a watch can only be determined by trying it out in person, and I can tell you that after holding this in one hand in the gw-m5610 in the other, my care for solar atomic vanished and all I cared about was screwback, screwback, screwback.

these G-shocks are overpriced ... you can get a smartwatch with GPS, Bluetooth, OLED screen, touch screen, pedometer and mobile app and tons of other features for 60 USD. tech wise this G-shock has nothing compared to today's smartwatches. it is just about 80s ..90s nostalgia

But smartwatch are not tough as gshock watch. 20bar water resistance, shock protection, 2 years battery life. You need to charge smart watch every 2-3 days and its a big no for me.
