Great video for people like me who just want to replace their battery with stuff they have laying around instead of becoming a part time watchmaker. Paperclip, thumbtack and screwdriver did the trick. I'll leave the finger condoms and tweezers for somebody else.

Great videography and voiceover; however, if I may, I recommend a couple additions... use “finger cots” (rubber covers for your fingers, cheap on eBay) or rubber gloves to prevent transfer of skin oils, debris to the movement. Also, use tweezers to remove the batteries to avoiding unnecessary trauma to the metal cover; it will break. You rightfully mentioned avoiding getting fingerprints/debris on the interior glass, but then lay the dial/movement on the towel collecting fibers and debris on those surfaces which will be visible when the parts are reassembled. Pardon me if I’m sounding picky, but these are a few simple aids to a DIY. Thanks for posting.

Stevee Wonders thanks for the constructive feedback. I tried to narrate the process by using tools readily available to the average person. You’re right though, those tools you referenced would be ideal for a battery change. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

It’s my first time I’m going to replace my G-Shock batteries so need some help from you guys on Ac reset. Is it necessary ? How it will affect my watch and would there be in saved country times still after ac reset like you know that kind of time setting where you have to select the country would that feature still be available after ac reset ? I will really appreciate on any kind of help provided.

Thank you for the video. Very informative! A thought, you mentioned the back plate position as a pet peeve, agreed on that note, however, in addition, if the plate isn't on correctly will the sensors properly make their contact on the brass (or whatever gold-ish colored material it might be) in the back plate?

YES reset is necessary as it zeros the digital components!
@theronwolf32963 жыл бұрын
Basically well done but I have some advice (from actual experience) 1 Don't handle and stuff with fingers. Very easy to damage or get skin oil on the surface. Use tweezers 2 Get silver oxide (like the SR927). Lithium as used in this video will work, but have a much shorter life. Worth the couple of bucks difference. 3 Remove the band before starting. Not essential, but much easier when you're not wrestling with it. 4 Don't just do the reset. After doing the reset follow the hand calibration steps in the manual (can be downloaded from Casio). When the batteries go dead, often the hands get out of sync. This was even visible on the video--after resetting, still the minute hands in the two time dials were not agreeing with each other, and the function hand on the bottom was off as well. 5 If possible, take pictures with your phone as you remove each component. Makes life a lot easier when putting back together.
@theronwolf32963 жыл бұрын
IMPORTANT NOTE regarding my comment. I realized the wording was misleading, do not pinch the battery sides with the tweezers. That will short it. Edges only.

It’s annoying cause when I need to see the time in the dark it just shows the green backlight only. Do I need a new battery? I’ve never had problems with this watch , had it for 8 years , never changed the battery. Could that be the issue?
