G-Shock Battery Replacement. GG-B100 Mudmaster Carbon Series

Tutorial video on the process of changing a CR2025 Battery in a GG-B100 Casio G-Shock Mudmaster, Carbon Series watch. Overall process took less than 20 minutes to complete and is fairly simple. This will help most people with a G-Shock watch tin changing a battery.
Use the right size tools and a micro fiber cloth to keep everything safe from rolling away and you should have no trouble replacing your battery!!

I always put a little bit of silicone grease around the seal before screw the back case. Preventing mine from fogging inside.

You didn't carry out the AC to ground reset procedure before closing the back up. In some cases without doing this the watch cannot be reset properly.

gshocks are meant to be played with all day long. you should totally consider it happening at least once in its lifetime when you go to buy it. i have this watch and it died in less than 2 years because I fiddled with all the triple sensor settings all day long. lol.

I have had mine almost twelve months now so hopefully the battery will last a bit longer I tuck one of my other g shocks to a local jewel who we use they charge very little for a battery replacement but my watch had two batteries which they managed to replace but the lady didn’t not now how to set the time I told her I will do when I get home but she never sort out the rest buttons inside so I ended up taking the back off myself and doing it I did find the screws to be a bit fiddly so i can see whey they Would be easy striped I may try replacing my mud master battery when it goes flat with the help of you video thanks for posting

Does anyone have a link for the Phillips head screws that hold on the back plate? I stripped one of them and would like to replace it. Thanks for the video!

I bought the mudmaster and just 2 months later the battery warning comes on ,so I got a battery CR2025 and watched the video, seems easy enough however, after buttoning it up I noticed that I had forgotten about the white plastic piece that fits in the back cover, realizing that it must be necessary, I disassembled the watch again and included the missing piece and reassembled the watch again, after 2 removals, I had stripped the 4th screw while tightening it, because I didn't have a good quality #0 Phillips, I tightened it best I can, but I'll never open the watch again, sometimes it is better to let a watch maker do the battery swap

I did the same thing on another watch. Ordered parts online to replace the screw and a stripping tool to get the old one out.

Thank you. Especially for the hand settings later on! Really helpful. Oddly, there was a drop of liquid in my watch (right under the battery). I wonder if my watch isn't fully sealed. I had it for 3 years though (dove with it as well).

Thank you. Wondering what size Phillips. I have all this copy paste info, and four kits from harbor freight and still no Phillips fits that well. PH 00 X 40 Philips #0 , 3/32" PHO X 60 Bergeon #00 Husky Model # HD-74501 W Screwdriver from Home Depot

Didn't do the AC reset? Isn't that an essential step? Otherwise A-OK. I know solar is nice, and most of my higher end gshocks are solar but it's not a negative to do this every couple years - gives you a chance to clean the watch, grease the gasket and anyone with basic competence should be able to do it. If you can operate this beast, you can surely learn how to change a battery 😁

I did the battery replacement twice. Once to practice and a second time to record and I didn't need to reset it at all either time... I guess it isn't a requirement every time.

My analog stopped working for no reason and the compass and altimeter as well but digital display still works so i dont know if its the battery or something else

Try changing the battery.

you can reset the analog. if its not displaying recover and everything else works if thats not it. replace the battery. but its prolly broke.

Mine dod the same thing. It's the battery. Eventually, the whole watch will stop working. Mine cut off and reset itself 5 separate occasion, before the battery completely died. I thought the watch was malfunctioning.

This one was a doozy for me I did about 5 months ago. didn't know it was held down with a sticker and almost tore the whole metal ring out thinking it was stuck or something. lol.
