I’m glad you followed the manual. I appreciate the step by step process (including showing the reverse). I also appreciate you’re intelligent and don’t take shortcuts.

Excellent video. Fixed P0345 Bank 2 CPS on 2005 G35 Coupe following the instructions. I recommend getting the 23731-AL61D OEM part or the Hitachi equivalent CPS0013 (previously CPS0005). Thanks!

You did it the hard way. I just did one on an '05 without removing any of that stuff, took 10 minutes tops. I used a pry bar to hold the hood fully open for more space, not necessary. Come in from the passengers side with a 10mm socket to remove the screw. Pull the sensor out, had to pull & wiggle pretty hard to pop it free. I used a long nose pliers to squeeze the connector tab. Put the connector onto the new sensor and release the tab, install into engine and install screw.

Hey DonsiGT230, great idea! I just followed the service manual process (I know not always the easiest way) So you were able to reach all the way over to the driver side and see what you were doing entering from the passenger side?? If the sensor goes bad again I'll try it that way. Thanks for watching.

@@attached2mygarage37 From memory I couldn't see, I think I did it by feel. It was pretty easy for me, but I have better than average feel & dexterity. Despite that I don't think it would be all that hard for anyone accustomed to working on stuff.
@GrahamFam722275 жыл бұрын
@@DonziGT230 I used your method also. Couldn't see it but could feel it. Undid the screw, pulled it out, then I could see it. I'm not very accustomed to worked on stuff, so if I can do it, most people could.

Great video. I changed it blind, from the other side. but someone had broken the lock clip on the plug, and after 3 auto zone lifetime replacements all failing to fix the hard start, I figured it must be the plug. This video shows me how to get where I needed to be to replace the plug for the sensor. Thanks!! PS Hitachi is Infiniti's manufacturer for These sensors. Bank 2 (angled) CPS0005, and CPS 0008 (straight) passenger side. Aftermarket parts for this application always seem to fail. You can pick up both sensors from rock auto for less than $100.00 for both!

how many do a 2012 g37 camshaft sensors have? so hitachi is the manufacturer
@michaelodwyer8004 жыл бұрын
@@ClaudBol for my 04 g35 you have 2 cam sensors angled on drivers side, straight on passenger side. You also have a crank sensor between engine and trans., under the car. Go to zspeed.com/ great site great, customer service, has everything you need for a great price!!

Do you have an idea of where the camshaft semsors might be located on the g37? All I see is videos of the g35
@michaelodwyer8004 жыл бұрын
@@ClaudBol what model? Most have 2 cam sensors and 1 crankshaft sensor. Camshaft sensors are on the back of the engine, just below the heads. The crankshaft sensor is between the oil pan and transmission. If it's a 6 speed manual, or a turbo or an IPL, throw out everything I just said, and look it up on KZbin. Put the 1st 5 or 6 digits of your vehicle I.D. number, or look it up on an Infiniti parts page.

Great detailed video of the procedure. I know there are some folks that forego removing the throttle body and intake hose because they reach under those components while standing on the passenger side fender; but ultimately I think your process is easier because you get much easier access to the sensor; AND you get to clean your throttle body - Bonus! . Thank you, as I'll be doing this today.
@frankkennedy5361 Жыл бұрын
At first I tried the shortcut because I could see the driver side Camshaft position sensor from the passenger side. However, I was mistaken and changed the wrong sensor. Did not want to remove the throttle body, but it was so dirty I took it out to clean it. Once removed, changing the Bank 2 CPS was easy. CPS fault was fixed, but due to disconnecting the throttle body a Service Engine fault P0507 High RPM posted. Getting it to clear was a real problem. Performed the procedure several times, but problem persisted. Thought my cleaning or handling damaged the throttle body so I installed a new one. Also replaced the two air inlet hoses (one of which was split). I did the relearn again but problem remained. Pulling out my hair at this point and ready to take it to a dealer. Found a slightly different procedure on KZbin and it worked, while the Haynes and throttle body manufacturer procedures did not. Try the Idle Relearn by Motordyne G35.

Thanks for this excellent DIY video. This was very helpful to change the bank2 CPS for my 2004 Infiniti g35. While doing this, I also changed the AC air filter. This allowed me to also clean the throttle body. Truly appreciate your help in providing detailed DIY video. I also changed bank1 CPS. But I used $40 after market parts (for both sensors) from 1A Auto and hope they last. They seem to be working and the car is not stalling anymore with the Slip indicator. If these sensors go faulty as you indicated in the next few months, I will get OEM parts. Keep up the good work bro!
