Once upon a time... "the guitar" became their "best friend". I am looking at guitar heroes who are still "boys" influenced by their guitar legends like Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Marcel Dadi, Lenny Breau, Django Reinhardt, Buster B Jones, Joe Pass, Ted Greene, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Paco de Lucia, Frank Zappa , ... , now all rocking in a another free world around us. What are we blessed that these boys once chose to play on a piece of wood with strings on it. The fun splashes off. Great!

Three completely different plays here, Joe is Mr Model fused with blues, Tommy is straight shooting blues with a shitload of soul and Phil has come from 80's shred. It is nice to get such a contrast of styles and sounds. Tommy is the absolute master in the acoustic arena and would nail both these guys whereas Joe is in his element here and one of the most natural improvisers with a heap of tricks in his arsenal, Phil has to think hard to keep up I think he is more suited to mapped out playing but he does a decent enough job and adds well to the mix.
@Moon-nf5fr Жыл бұрын
Phil Collen isn't just an eighties shredder. He's a massively under-rated guitar player and would give both Tommy and Joe a good workout. Except on acoustic where Tommy would smash anyone.

@richards60656 жыл бұрын
The reason Phil’s Sound is lower is because the camera microphone position is downstage center which is right in front of Tommy’s amp. Step back to FOH mix position and it would be ok. There may not be center fills. That’s why Tommy’s Guitar is louder than his vocals where the camera is recording.

you dont know Tommy that well huh? I mean...no one can REALLY coppy Stevie, and i doubt that someone like Tommy is even trying that, in this video hes just simmply playing in that style. But hes playing just by ear and feeling, the same thing that Stevie did, so to say that he isnt in the same league is ridiculous. Tommy is all the way up there.

Tommy for some decades now has been widely regarded as the world's best overall guitarist. He played electric a lot more in his younger days as a sideman and session player in Australia. He and his brother Phil were child guitar prodigy's and started performing from about age 6. Try and find the clip where Tommy sweep picks on his acoustic - that's a treat.
