Death Wobble was cured in a previous video after buying new tires and installing a Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer.
In this video I go over installing 4x KONI Raid Shocks purchased from JackWagon Overlanding. I go into detail usually missed in these types of videos such as sizes of wrenches needed, problems I ran into etc.

Thanks for the detailed video. This is the best one yet that I have seen. Keeping your video for reference when I change my g wagon shocks.

Hey k3nz0, great video and thank you for the love! Couple notes: 1. We recommend torquing all nuts/bolts to 55Nm. 2. There are no clicks on the Konis so there's no specific settings. For instance, you can adjust them to 178 degrees, 179, 180, etc. Medium-soft (180 degrees) is just a good rule of thumb for mixed use (on and off road). Some models have set "clicks" but these just freely spin. I only say this because you mention "one setting above soft" when really you can set them at any degree. 3. Once you get the shock fully compressed and feel the locking mechanism, use a little force and twist the other direction. Pulling up like you did may disengage the adjustment phase so you might just be spinning the shock without actually adjusting. You'll notice the shock freely spins when not compressed so you want to make sure the shocks are all the way down, compressed, and you feel the lock on the one side when you are adjusting. It should take a little force in that opposite direction to get the rotation going then it gets easier past that initial budge. Again, great video, just wanted to add a couple details in here as I want to share this along to a few of our clients in the future. Great attention to detail and I am sure this will be very helpful to others in the future!

Hi Jack thanks for the notes. I'll need to go back and make sure I'm around 55Nm on nuts/bolts. I believe you are correct re: shock adjustment, as mentioned I felt the lock on one side to base setting, but then I did pull up until it felt like it was freely spinning the other direction, which means I probably wasn't adjusting at all! Thx.

@@kenhowto medium-soft is just our recommendation for you. The "perfect" setting is subjective and situational for sure so give it a try on medium-soft when you have a chance and see how you like it then. Curious to get your feedback! More soft is better for off road and bumpy roads, more stiff is better for on road and tighter use. Everybody is a little different.. thanks again!

@@jackwagonoverlandingHello What setting (soft or hard) do you recommend for a G w460 cabrio that is mainly driven on roads and gravel?

9:14 not sure if this would’ve work but maybe a oil filter wrench would hold the shock in place

Thank you! Has the ride changed or improved? What setting are you running?

Sorry for the super tardy reply! As the shocks are more heavy duty, actually the ride is stiffer. Next step to get done progressive springs that start soft for the smaller bumps and get stiffer with more compression

Hi, as these are more heavy duty, they are a little stiffer than before (which granted were worn out). Next step some progressive springs. That said it’s tracking smooth and straight, great control on mountain roads. Thx for the question!
