Very nice. Interesting you lay in each direction. I had to do that because of a bald spot and felt I had done wrong. Most are layered up the hill. I suppose as long as the branches are not lower than the pleach it is OK. Amazing how thick some of the pleaches are. Is there a maximum? I guess not because my Beach is greening up and the break is 6 foot at least wide where it fell in the Winter. 😂

Yes 99% of the time all one direction (up hill) on occasion there might be need to lay the "other way" to fill in or cover a gap, but even then you could back lay to fill a gap and then still keep the main pleachers going the same way .
